My in-laws, while they have their quirks as we all do, are great people whom I cherish. Right after the wedding I started calling them Mom and Dad and they loved it. I learned early on that getting along with the parents made it 100% easier to get along with the gf/wife so I made a conscience effort to get on their good side.
