Ethan in Cleveland
I just re-watched Bills Jets MNF game from 1992. Kenneth Davis was so good. Had me thinking who was the best back-up RB in Bills franchise history? A few caveats. I did not include Cookie as he was listed as a FB. I did not include Fred Jackson as though he was a backup for a few years he became the primary RB later. If I am missing someone from the 60's or 70's please let me know. I chose Robb Riddick. Davis had more carries yards and TDs but for me Riddick could do everything. He was an excellent pass blocker, good out of the backfield and had a knack for the end-zone. I think he really helped Kelly and that offense in the early years.
Ray Stonada
I also liked Darick Holmes a lot. Remember the playoff game where we rushed for 341 yards(!) against Miami? I believe Thurman and Darick both went over 100 yards. Edited 2 hours ago by Ray Stonada 3
Charles Romes
Kenneth Davis ran very similarly to Thurman as well. Sometimes you had to wait for the pile to clear to confirm who ran it. 2

But also, I don't remember Fred Jackson doing a whole lot until he was starting. But maybe I just don't remember.
BuffaloBillies
Don't care what you call him, Fred Jackson might be my favorite Bill ever. At least top 5

freddyjj
Kenny Davis for sure. Although I always liked Roland Hooks during the late OJ, Terry Miller, Joe Cribbs era.

WotAGuy
Braxton was a starter; those were the days of a HB and FB both starting. He and OJ had 1,000 yards the same year I believe.

damj
You didn't list Yonel Jordain so I had to pick Davis. Davis could've started for most other teams 53 minutes ago, Mark Vader said: Agreed. Livinginthepast
Davis was an awesome one two punch with Thurman. Thurman got most of the accolades (deservedly) but the quality didnt really dip much when they went to Davis as an alternate. We were so spoiled back then!
