Construct the best Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwhich

Recommended Posts

3 slices of whole wheat bread - toasted.  Oat bread is a good alternative.  The higher end and not the store brand or Natures Own.

The middle slice covered with extra chunky peanut butter.

The bottom and top bread slice with a thin spread of grape jelly.

The peanut butter needs to dominate the taste.

I use peanut butter mixed with chocolate to kill squirrels - squirrels love peanut butter and chocolate is fatal to squirrels.

Sometimes there is a little jelly on it.

Does that count?

Only if you ate the squirrel....in which in the south they do.  But not me.

I think I have some issues with your bread ratio— three slices?!

Also, I definitely have some grave concerns about grape jelly?!

i would go with lightly toasted thin Italian bread, with 2-3 TBS of crunch peanut butter, and 1-2 TBS of strawberry jelly.

I only eat PB&J grilled now.

Give it a shot if you've never tried it that way.

Usually pure peanut butter for me - all natural.  I prefer strawberry jam, not jelly. Never jelly, for the sake of pete.  Bread can vary - white or wheat always works.

You lost me right there.

In fact, I don't even know who you are any more......

I can barely accept it on a club sandwich, but that is a thing.

On a PBJ it sounds like a way to fill a tummy.  I might have done that in college, I must admit.

Definitely agree with strawberry preserves...the kind with chunks of strawberries.  Preserves should be thick and a nice spread of smooth peanut butter.  I like Italian bread which can hold up to the ample portions of PB and J.

I fully concur.

Re smooth PB, I have to say that we usually get generic PB. But we got some Jif not long ago. That smooth Jif on a PBJ with the strawberry preserves is top notch!

I am simply shocked no one here likes whole wheat bread.  What the hell is wrong with you people?

A PBJ should have the gooiest, sweetest most sugar-laden white bread you can possibly find.

Like falling apart Wonder bread levels of awfulness.....

1. Three pieces of thick cut bread (prefer whole wheat, but you do you)

2. Thick spread of PB on piece #1

3. Thin spread of jelly or jam, usually strawberry but doesn't really matter...as you'll see, on piece #2

4. Throw out piece #2 and replace with piece #3 covered with thick spread of Fluff

5. Piece #3 on piece #1

6. Enjoy
