Sojourner Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Interesting. That’s presumably going by the records the teams have right now. Lions/9ers/Rams are all better than the record suggests. Then there’s the 5-0 Chiefs. 10-7 isn’t so bad if it goes the worst possible route. 1 Quote
BfloBillsFan Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Interesting turn of events. After seeing the schedule at the beginning of the year, i thought the Bills would be lucky with a 9-8 (10-7 at best) record. I looked at the schedule this afternoon and was thinking it didn't appear to be as hard I initially thought. Obviously some tough games but seems more manageable now. Hopefully this "transition year" doesn't get in the way. 1 1 2 Quote

It says it's made up from ESPN Power Rankings which is hilarious. Some nerd. Even then.. the people that create the power rankings often say that they're wild and often not reflective of reality. For example, some write them based off the last week only.. others the season to date. Others incorporate last season's results. Same thing as draft rankings.. the people that make them say they're silly as hell, but since people love to read them.. they keep doing them. Edited October 9 by Malazan 1 Quote

Thought the power rankings would have been by record and overall play combined 🤣 1 Quote

I'm gonna try to disagree off the top of my head Minni Baltimore KC Houston Rams (or they are close) Cards(same as rams) Bills (I struggle with this, but as of now I think it is true at least marginally) Seattle Green Bay Washington And like maybe Denver maybe Cincinnati or something Ok, so I'd prolly put them 9-14, so I don't think it's wildly off, but I'm sure they will rip a bunch of wins off before we face them 1 Quote
ProcessTruster Posted October 9 Posted October 9 "power rankings" are week to week trash in general, but I get the drift... Quote
GunnerBill Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I felt like if the Bills won either of the last two the playoffs were pretty much a certainty. I think they need at least 4 of the next 5 now to stay in the hunt. 8-2 they'd be in a good spot. 7-3 they'd be okay. Worse than that they are in trouble... although if the Jets implode 9 wins might win the East. Zero chance the Pats or Miami get more than that IMO. 1 Quote

BananaB Posted October 9 Posted October 9 (edited) Who cares. Nothing changes with this staff we go back to the playoffs and lose again. Bills are treading water with McD and Beane, rather it all just blow up. Edited October 9 by BananaB 1 1 Quote
SoCal Deek Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Not sure what all the chatter is about. I tend to agree with the basic premise. The Bills still play the Chiefs, Lions, 49ers and Seahawks…..and pretty much nobody else. If they beat the teams they should beat and steal one of the four listed above they’ll have a really good record (much better than I predicted) before crapping out in the playoffs, again. Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted October 9 Posted October 9 As others have posted, Beane has made three in season trades - Benjamin, Hines, and Douglas. So he is not opposed to making moves. You look at that schedule and if Beane doesn't make a move at WR then you know his plan all along was to reset or rebuild and give up on 2024. Quote

I’d describe it more like trying to coast by in 2024. It was bound to happen some time along the way. Quote
