If we lose this game lol - McDermott should be the next head coach to be gone I wouldn’t be so quick to say that. Sometimes teams that fire a coach have a bit of a temporary rejuvenation. 1 Quote

I think the Jets will play like their tails are on fire tonight. But if it starts to go south then I wouldn't surprised to see them jack it in and a loss would see their season unravel pretty quickly IMO. 1 1 Quote

Woody's pep talk: "I was willing to fire Coach Saleh even though I still need to pay him so don't you think I will not fire you if you slack off." Quote
ganesh Posted October 14 Posted October 14 (edited) There was already a lot of chaos in that building. Now the Interim HC has made more by giving control to someone else. The QB is a friend of the OC whose play calling duties were stripped off from him. It will be hard to see who is calling the shots in that building. The Bills will have to leverage this and come with their gun's blazing. McDermott is a better coach and he should have his team prepared for this moment. Also, the Bills have their own ghosts to clear up...their QB went 9 for 30, one of the worst performance as a QB in the league over 30 years....I am sure he wants to correct that blemish on his career. Gregg Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Ari Meirov on X: "Former #Jets HC Robert Saleh was spotted at #Packers practice today. His history with Matt LaFleur goes way back. (🎥 @EzeirCameron) https://t.co/pL5wRoIM0N" / X Rob Demovsky on X: "Recently fired Jets coach Robert Saleh is at Packers practice. Long history between him and Matt LaFleur. Also has worked with Jeff Hafley. We’ll hear from LaFleur after practice if he’s hired Saleh in some capacity. That’s him on the far sideline watching the offense. https://t.co/JjOFAv1iLa" / X 1 Quote

This firing—at this point in the season—is very surprising. There has to something major going on behind the scene. What about now? Change your perspective on the jets yet? Dumpster fire yet, or still think they may come through? To clarify: not a literal dumpster fire, as that would not make sense!, but I meant a wrecked, dysfunctional team, led by one man at the QB/OC/GM/Head coaching positions who has no leadership qualities at all. In fact, the anti-leader, someone who would probably run a good middle school football team into the ground too if put in charge of it, let alone an NFL team. To me, their team's destruction was inevitable since the first moment theysigned rodgers. I said so on here, and that the Bills would have one less AFC East team to be concerned about now that the jets made that awful decision to turn the reigns of their team over to this head case. 1 Quote

FFS, when did I ever say the Jets were good? I predicted from the very beginning that the Aaron Rodgers experiment would blow up in their face, and I was thrilled that they doubled down on Rodgers this season. My point three weeks ago was correct: If the Jets had somehow won the MNF game, their season would have looked completely different. Did I predict they would beat the Bills or say they are better than the Bills? Umm, no. Quote
bigduke6 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 ive said this before, if i was Saleh, id be happy i was removed from that tire fire. the rest of the league will understand just how bad he had it. he still gets paid, doesnt have to hate going to work every morning anymore. im not a Saleh fan but the Jets owner deserves all this. 1 2 Quote
HopelessNJBuffaloFan Posted October 28 Posted October 28 The Jets being the Jets should have never let him go. I know this is Rodgers related. Dumb decision. After Thursday they will be out of the playoff picture and we can laugh at the lowly Jets Quote

No, I did not say you said those things you say above, but that you still saw something in them a few weeks ago that made you think they may still come through. rodgers was always an almost a complete, absolute obstacle to the jets' success since the day he was brought on board. I hope he comes back next year for another go round! Quote
TheFunPolice Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Saleh's defense would not have given away that game. The guy is a very good defensive coach, and maybe he ends up in the Spags role somewhere where he gets to win all the time, focus on D, and everyone loves him. 1 Quote

Is there a better job out there than "fired NFL coach"? And now Saleh is hanging in Green Bay with his good buddies, getting a double check, with no real pressure or responsibility. Good for him. 1 Quote
