My parents spend half the year in Cheektowaga and leave after Christmas for Punta Gorda, Florida.  The hurricane appears to be headed right towards their little trailer in the community they're in.

PG is an awesome town.  Love Fisherman’s Village as well as the “downtown” area right by the bridge to Port Charlotte

I am hoping the best for you....you have been through a lot and still going through it.  I'm sorry to hear about your losses.

Stay safe.

Thank you , that means a lot.  I always appreciate, follow and enjoy your thoughts on the bills over the years.  thank you for taking the time to reach out.  It’s getting a little scary now as I just saw the weather station has a live female reporter about five minutes from my home in Jax beach and they are warning about surge here as it crosses to the Atlantic.  Plus tornadoes are already hitting south Florida on the ground with the storm still 14 hours away.     Again , thanks for the kind wishes.  🥹👍🏼

Prayers to everyone done there 🙏

We go there every time we visit them.  I love the area.  My inlaws do the same thing and my grandparents started it 35 years ago - in Port Charlotte.

Feel terrible that it's likely to get wiped out.

Having a crazy tornado outbreak with almost 20 tornado warnings happening right now and they aren't the typical weak F0 or F1 tropical ones, they are intense ones!

Here is a great live stream with meteorologists covering everything Milton related including the tornado outbreak.

I live in Port Charlotte, biggest fear is the storm surge. PG will most likely be underwater by morning with high tide at 7am. Flooding was bad during Helene and the ground is already saturated. Prayers for all those with homes there.

Agreed on the storm surge. We still have friends and family in Sarasota. We saw videos of waves hitting the header crashing in thru a sliding glass door and washing the furniture away from Helene. My DIL’s childhood friend had to be rescued by boat from her house with a 2 year old and a new born. It had never flooded there before. They have already had TWO storms like that. What a rough year down there. Hopefully people had the sense to get the hell out of the way! Good luck everyone.

Sarasota sounds like it will be ground zero.  I have a good friend living in Englewood and she is going to stay in place.  I wish she would evac.

Most of the western coast has the barrier islands but I always thought about a hurricane hitting around Venice.  There is nothing but beach and

ocean in that town.  I wouldn't want to be there today.

The Waffle House Index is off the charts.

They just closed all locations in the Tampa area.

That’s the kind of news we need! The weatherman doesn’t give you that kind of critical data to form a basis for a prudent decision.

When the Waffle House closes, it's time to get the hell out of town!

Sarasota is already saturated, and I can’t imagine what Venice would be like with a bad storm surge. Such an underrated and quaint little area…..and I can’t even begin to guess how far inland there would be feet of water because of the way it lays out with all the waterways.

They used to say the old people live in Sarasota, and their parents live in Venice. 😂

I mean, it’s not like you can even eat any more! You’d starve to death for sure!

I spent a lot of time there years ago when I was stationed in Florida in the Air Force.  Venice was a cool town to visit.

When I visit the west coast now, I can't believe how it has grown in population.  There is a lot of people facing a perilous night.
