947 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 No every head impact leads to a concussion. His helmet did bounce pretty good off the turf, but turf is a lot softer than another helmet, and it's not moving toward you. If he passed protocol, it wasn't a concussion. He was absolutely lit up though, and looks like he was also hurting in the sternum area. The hit may have affected his play afterward. 2 1 Quote
RyanC883 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 he did get nailed in the ribs, likely knocking the air out of him, which also causes one to “stay down” for a second. 1 1 Quote

Why else would Trubisky have to come in ? He also looked unconscious for a few seconds or more. Watch his hands…he looked out Edited October 6, 2024 by PauleeeWalnuts 2 Quote
Doc Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) This would have been a good question...when the game was still going on. When he showed up to the brightly-lit press conference and took questions for 3-1/2 minutes and it looked like every other presser by him...it's a non-story. Edited October 6, 2024 by Doc 1 1 Quote
BufBills83 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 We don't know for absolute certainty he had a concussion. Quote

It happens all the time if you are looking in nfl games. My beef is with the internet concussion experts who think they know what is good for everyone not on the bills but they don’t say jack when it is Josh Allen. That was not a back injury. 1 1 Quote

iccrewman112 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 To me anyone who isn’t wearing a guardian cap is being selfish and putting their ego ahead of the team. If Allen enters protocol early this week and misses next week. Was it worth it to not wear the guardian cap that reduces 12-15% of the impact of every hit? 1 Quote
DapperCam Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 He sure looked out cold to me. The only alternative I can imagine that makes any sense is that he got the wind knocked out really badly (like when you feel like you can't breath and are gasping for air). But he was motionless for a good 5 seconds after hitting the turf. Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) P = MV and conservation of momentum Josh doesn't move fast enough anymore to generate enough momentum, so therefore when his head ricochets off the turf there is not enough force to cause a concussion... Ps that was sarcasm.... Edited October 6, 2024 by Ethan in Cleveland 1 1 Quote
Cusefan66214 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Have you talked with the team doctors? Let them know ASAP, he may not have been testee for it Quote
Chaos Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Its clear he had what is known as a transferrable concussion. All the symptons were moved to Brady and McDermott, which explains there play calling on the Bills last two drives. 2 Quote
JakeFrommStateFarm Posted October 7, 2024 Author Posted October 7, 2024 Replay of the hit. He hit his head pretty hard 1 Quote
Andrew Son Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 How could you tell if he was playing concussed or not? Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 I just saw on the CBS post game show that I think the league is going to look into why he didn't go to the tent tomorrow. They said something like that. Its surely not the last we have heard of this esp with the Tua situation. Quote
