WotAGuy
This one really made me sad for a second. Billy was synonymous with the Bills before OJ came on the scene. His getting HOF recognition having only played in the AFL was significant; especially being a non-glamorous position. By all accounts, a very good man. RIP Billy Edited Monday at 02:58 AM by WotAGuy 2 2

BearNorth
Hope to see #66 patch on Jerseys this year. The QB sneak with Kemp running behind Shaw was the AFL equivalent of the brotherly shove.
LabattBlue
I was only 5 in 64, and whenever one of the Bills AFL legends passes, I wish I was around to see the 64 & 65 teams in action. RIP Billy Shaw 😞

Cute, but not everyone will get it. I am not Billy Shaw. Billy Shaw has died, and it saddens me deeply, as I'm sure many of you understand. But let's not pretend that Billy Shaw was posting here. I just happened to be using his name and number as a tribute to him and to the teams he played on. I'll probably say more later. K-9
He helped define the position in his era and is the only HOFer to have never played a down in the NFL. One of my early football heroes. RIP, Bill Shaw. Travel well. 3

Loved that guy and this news hits me hard. Also learned a girl who stood up in our wedding died today. Tough day. Rest in Peace, Billy. Marcus Aurelius
My dad played guard at South Park HS in South Buffalo. He took us boys to the Rockpile and introduced us to the finer details of playing on the line. He was more enamored with #66 Billy Shaw than Jack Kemp, Cookie Gilchrist or any OJ Simpson. Rest in Peace Billy. 5

billybrew1
I remember he was at my grade school when I was in about third grade…. I remember staring at him and he waved to me and I think I waved back….He spoke to the whole school in the auditorium but I have zero recollection of what he said. I don’t think I really listened….He struck me as a very nice person though…. I wasn’t a Bills fan then. None of my five older brothers were either. They were terrible, just awful at around that time. I remember one brother I looked up to was a Joe Namath jets fan, but I…. I hate to say it, I was a cowboys. I had a lot of their football cards and had favorite players. Calvin Hill and Bob Hayes were my favorites. I remember the big kids talking about football and I think most were either Jets or dolphin fans if you can believe that, and I said something like, the cowboys will kick their ass! And I did not outrun them….I remember getting kicked…. Had to wait for Lou Saban to come back to make everyone Bills fanatics….at least in my neighborhood…. thats my Billy Shaw story…. RIP BILLY SHAW GO BILLS! 1
SoMAn
Class act and one of the all time great Buffalo Bills. He was in Buffalo with other all-time Bills for what I believe must’ve been the 1999 home opener. Probably a 30th anniversary for the team. I was at that opening game as I always was until about 15 years ago. Anyway, on the flight back to Atlanta, Billy and his wife were seated directly across the aisle from me. Both were very outgoing and didn’t mind talking some Bills football. He handed me his recently acquired Hall of Fame ring to try on for size and then reached into his brief case to pull out a pair of specialty issued Billy Shaw #66 HOF trading cards that he’d signed and gave to me. That was a great way to cap off the Buffalo trip. Thanks #66 for all the great memories, on and off the field. 3 4
Let's Go Buffalo
R.I.P. Mr. Shaw! That was before my time, but my Dad could tell some stories for sure. Thoughts and prayers for the whole family.
