boyst Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 both sides of the R's and D's... it's funny. everyone saying that FEMA and the president have only given $750. that's true, but to get any money it needs to go through congress for this type of event. congress had already greenlit the funds for immigrants, drug rehab centers, cat hair implants or whatever else they did. it's amazing that both sides clearly slept through elementary school. beyond that - this crap doesn't matter because money isn't going to magically just fix all of the problems. 1

But Trump is not in office and Harris is so she gets the blame for it/politically hurt because that’s how it works. 1

Expand This was my point the other day. The knee jerk response is to blame the party in power, point fingers and use this sort of tragedy for political gain. By the time Helene hit, the decisions to prioritize funding for other expenditures had long been made. It’s a uniquely government phenomenon, not unlike Medicare and Social Security. 1
