Are we done committing Fandom Seppuku yet?

Recommended Posts

The Bills were blown out by Derrick Henry and the Titans in 2020 and Jonathan Taylor and the Colts in 2021. But we mostly just remember that those teams were incredibly close to the Super Bowl. So, I'll be keeping my guts inside my body for the time being.

Yes? No?  Anyway here goes, Like I said last week we are going to not to undefeated and would lose this season and its OK, Seriously its ok. What we saw against the Ravens was mostly coaching, and I know there is wailing and gnashing of teeth about talent, and yeah we aren't there yet, but coaching cost us.  We went in with the same Big Nickle BS that McDermott runs, and did so  against a power running team, and got Trucked.  I said run a 5-2 this last week and gap control instead of running upfield (which the Ravens gladly invited Oliver to do) and we paid greatly.  We made very little 2nd half adjustments and I feel Sean should have stepped in to help Babich the 2nd half.

Offense, They blitzed our #1 ranked pass blocking OL while taking away the Middle of the field. Roll Josh out, throw to the outside.  Where has the Screen game gone? I haven't seen one worth a damn ran by the Bills since the 90's.  Go 5 wide, make them spread out, many different ways to skin that cat... and on both sides of the ball we did jack.

That said, its past time to move on. We have very winnable games in front of us and as long as this coaching staff has a proper game plan per opponent we face (instead of forcing a cookie cutter "works for all" plan) then we will be fine.  We didn't just suck over night.

Some things to remember...

Its a marathon not a sprint.

Playoffs are made in November, December and part of January

We have the best damn QB on the planet

And lastly... we are in a huge retooling year. Tons of cap room being offloaded, tons of new talent so growing pains are going to happen.

Lets be honest, everyone is up in arms because the Media, who you should NEVER listen to, were kissing our butts and Josh was the greatest thing on the Planet. And when we got beat, it hurt a hell of a lot more because the same assclowns will be dumping on us.

Baltimore is done, Houston is next, kick their asses and Go Bills!

Wait, I thought it was because the Bills went 3-0 after destroying the Jags in a prefect half of football.  But now it's only because our minds were perverted by "the Media"??  Dang, what a hollow feeling.

And what if "this coaching staff [doesn't have] a proper game plan per opponent"---you know, like against the Ravens?  What if, instead of sucking overnight, the Bills suck over the course of several weeks?

I think it's a Pokémon card

Its a Pokémon card many Bills fans seem to pull after a loss.  "I choose you Seppuku!"

It's not just the media, fans were pumping up the Bills even more so. Look at the threads. Josh as the MVP frontrunner, Lamar being overrated, Mahomes "passing of the torch" to Allen, Joe Brady being anointed, etc.

Fans ran with the wins & started getting big heads. That's what fans do, but it's like we never learn.

I think it hurts more because it was against Lamar. If Allen has any shot of winning MVP at the end of the year & Lamar is in the conversation, people will look back at this game. A ton of Bills fans were very vocal on social media downplaying Lamar, and Ravens fans were keeping receipts. That's why it stings. I've had to stay away from all my typical sports outlets, YouTubers, etc. Just to avoid it all.

But if we can beat Houston, things will be back on track. I care more about this game than I do the Jets. I don't want to hear the Diggs chatter ramp up again if the Texans win, and we may also need that tie-breaker at the end of the year. Even if the Jets win, we should still win the division.

The ONLY saving grace is Lamar tossed a couple TD's and ran for one, but it was Henry and the Defense that won that game.  Allen just needs to do Allen things for the rest of the year, and it will all work out.

Expectations minus Reality equals Disappointment. Many fans need to adjust their expectations to be more in line with reality. And the reality is, the Bills will get beaten sometimes, even badly. It happens to EVERY team, even the ever unholy and damned Chiefs.

Corrected.

Here I go again having a thought again. I think they may be more worried about keeping ints low. Short game manager stuff for Josh. I know Josh has done some Josh stuff but I get the feeling that is not exactly what coaching wants him to do.

It was bad coaching, guys could get open but not before the Blitz overwhelmed our OL. They crowded the Middle of the field which is where we have normally been going, there were open routes on the outside.

We just need to hope Brady learns from this.

Yep. I'm hope, and I do have some faith that they'll (coaches) learn from this as far as the offense goes.

It’s best to do those in alphabetical order. Just trying to help.
