I don't think it's really up to Beane. Word is that he DID make the call.

The Raiders would have to be willing to eat Adams' salary this year and...well...do you know much about Mark Davis?

The Saints waived WR AT Perry, per source.

 

I don't know who this guy is, and I haven't seen it from anyone else yet, but if it's true, this is interesting.

 

On a side note, I like Perry and would happy if the Bills claimed him if he has indeed been released.

Didn’t see this til today. Bills are reportedly “inquired with Vegas on Adams.” This could just be the Bills seeing who’s interested (Jets and Chiefs) or trying to actually pull something off. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this though with Beane. A lot of factors at play in this trade, like if Vegas will eat the cap on Adams, the Draft Capitol we’d have to give up, ect. Adams has said he would be interested in playing with the Bills, though.

I don’t think the Bills will be willing to give up much for Adams; maybe a 4th?  And they won’t be paying his remaining contract value without some relief. In other words, he will only be on the Bills if no one else wants him enough to pay the asking price.

A GMs job is to check in on these rumors. And Beane does a thorough job of it. Always has. 

 

It doesn't even necessarily mean they were interested in Adams. They could be calling to see if there was insane value. He could have been calling to assess the going rate on a top flight WR in the trade market. 

 

I would promise you that more often then not when we hear a player wants a trade....Beane checks it out along with most other GMs.

 

We of course hear the "Bills have in interest" because technically they picked up the phone. And most of the time when we hear what's going on in a potential trade....it's either information released by the players agent or the team to drum up business.

 

Why would they mention the Bills for this one? Well the Jets are rumored to be the hot spot. Maybe they give up more to keep him from division rivals. It's a smart play.
