Stiff arming Kiko Alonso or others. He seems slower. He’s still elusive in the pocket (barely). Is he showing his age already? Or didn’t he work out this past summer? I know they want him to stay in the pocket, but he’s been sliding 15 yards short of where he used to when faster. Perhaps we’ll never see the 15-20 yard designed runs to the end zone Go Bills. What color is Alabama's mascot? Quote
frostbitmic Posted October 26 Posted October 26 He's been in Buffalo for 6+ years, that's a lot of Buffalo pizza and wings, that'll slow anybody down. 2 Quote

Hope that makes sense. Hear me out: 1) Slower through middle of pocket. Rolls right. Closes his eyes and throws. 2) I hold my breath on every audible. Does he really know what he’s looking at? 3) Still no anticipation throws. Throws to receivers who are open (is this a product of Josh not anticipating or Brady not designing?) His legs (and brain) seem slower this year. Maybe he’s still in golf mode. Who knows. playing so “slow” physically and mentally that he is still 4th in passer rating and number 1 in the league in QBR. Even after the two game stretch against Ravens and Texans. He’s 1st and 4th in the two most commonly accepted efficiency metrics after just having completed the toughest 3 game stretch of the schedule. another case of the standard for Josh and the Bills offense to be perfect basically every game. It’s fine to strive for that every game but we as fans know this is not the way the game has ever been for any team. Let’s not forget as well that this team was supposed to be in a mini rebuild this year with Shakir being the only we on the roster that had ever caught a pass from Allen. 1 1 Quote

You are mistaken, what you are seeing is a QB playing smarter, your misinterpretation of what you are seeing is common among fans who don’t understand that the players aren’t actually there to entertain them, but rather would like a long and productive career, then retire with a body that is not in constant discomfort. 4 Quote

RunTheBall Posted October 26 Posted October 26 IDK if Josh has lost a step but he definitely hesitates to run. There have been several times I’d have liked him to take off and run for a first down or more but he’s hesitating a half second now and the window is closed where as in years past he’d take off immediately. It’s probably a combination of his early season hand injury and coaching from McD/Brady to use his head more and legs less. Also, I’ve definitely noticed more teams having a dedicated spy on Josh. Why Brady has not used that to scheme up an advantage I have no idea. If they are spying him that means there are other defenders with increased responsibilities that we should be able to take advantage of by scheme. I have hope that when we get towards the end of the season/playoffs that they will unleash the Mustang and Josh will take a few teams by “surprise” by using his legs more. 1 Quote
without a drought Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Slow guy on the verge of becoming a turnover machine. Well, it was nice while it lasted. 6 1 Quote
RochesterLifer Posted October 26 Posted October 26 The idea that Josh has lost a step is laughable, the latest imagination of Buffalo Eeeyore fans. As Josh has matured, he has run conservatively early in the season and more aggressively later in the season. Then, he is full throttle in the playoffs. He does a good job of staying healthy and ready, hitting a new level when it gets important. The opposite of Lamar Jackson. 1 1 Quote
billybob71 Posted October 26 Posted October 26 What are we talking about here? I don't know about you all but we are bit spoiled maybe? Have you watched many of the other starting QBs? Most of them seem so limited in what they can do after watching Allen every week. 1 Quote

Literally the first week of the season Josh ran and jumped over a guy for a TD which ended up with a hand injury. He's been more cautious while he's been recovering from said injury which isn't surprising at all and it's awfully hard to stiff arm people with that hand. Edited October 26 by Warcodered 5 1 Quote

BringBackFergy Posted October 27 Author Posted October 27 I counted 3 “ALERT ALERT!” Josh sees something. Josh keeps the ball. Gain of one yd. Definitely lost a step reading the D. Tough pill to swallow but it’s happening. 3 2 Quote
