there have been quite a few of these players that were on the market late and signed for cheap and really made a diff for the team that signed them.

mean while we gave the same or just slightly less for players that were mostly duds.   All i can figure is alot of these older vets just dont

want to come to buffalo late in their careers.

for a while we were so good at stretching the field....then we got this small ball mentality in our heads.

I was hoping things would change with Brady... and it has a little bit but it seems when things are the hardest we go into a small ball shell.

So I see where you are going, I have a different thought... but acknowlege you might be correct here... I think what we saw this year was the small ball worked... and worked well.... when it didnt work, we were unable to adjust to it. So I have no problem with the offense thru the first 3 games... what I did have a problem with was our lack of adjustment against the Ravens when they took away the small ball... I also take umbrage with that ridiculous play call with Samuel and the reverse roll Allen into the pursuit and almost get him killed play when we were gaining momentum.... Lets see how Brady adjusts to Defenses creeping up on the small ball... only issue is who is the guy gonna stretch the field... more to come.

It was odd when all season every wr we brought in played the same positon for the most part..  Hell we even took kindcaid to play in the slot.

there is nothing wrong with small ball....except you need more than one identity and small ball only works for so long without the threat of something

deep.

but alas....we'll see what happens.

I'd take Hyde off the couch over Hamlin any day of the week.

I'd take Cole Bishop over Hamlin right now too, even with the prospect of rookie mistakes.

I think it would be good for Bishop to get some tutelage from Hyde regardless, nobody in that room right now is a mentor.

Indeed I have always been concerned about who that was... I think they thought Scandling, but now I am wondering if the answer isnt send Coleman deep with no separation and let him go get it.  but lets see...

I'm definitely in the "break in case of emergency" scenario with Hyde.  Hamlin hasn't been oppresively bad, but with Rapp potentially out we'll see how he looks with the rookie.  I assume we find a spot on the PS and give him some time to get game ready, then just promote to the active roster.

Bring him in. If he doesn't do well, it probably wouldn't be any worse than what we have going on right now.

So we bring in a slow, older Safety with a brittle neck. What can go wrong?

Hey if McD is open to it, who am I to say what the correct choice is. Hamlin is young and slow. Rapp is injured Williams is either injured or doesn't see the field. Bishop is so green. We see what can go wrong there and has. So yeah. Just thinking out loud here.

Why Hyde isn’t here as a coach or at least a consultant is beyond me.

Speaking of safeties not currently on our team, I’m starting to come around on Poyer after his headhunting Shakir. He’s still hurting Dolphin players for us.
