I would be an easy thing to do but I should have been clearer what I was talking about. One way would be to find out what the defensive average yards allowed with Rousseau on the field vs. off the field. Or maybe DVOA with Rousseau on vs off. There are a ton of factors such as the play called, defense they are in, is there a twist or stunt on (oh wait, the Bills don't do that) but over the course of the season the sample size would be large enough such that things would settle out. I'd imagine the numerical difference wouldn't be much but the it might be interesting and a way to quantify the benefit of a player. Just curious if some website does that kind of thing. I doubt it, but I don't know. To my eye, we seem weak against the run. We've been running a 4-2-5 nickel for years, and we've always been vulnerable in the playoffs, but this year it just feels like teams can gash us for 7-10 yards on the ground if they stick with it. In past years we've done better. I'm not saying it’s Rousseau's fault, but he and others simply cannot overcome the scheme. To me that'd what a difference maker does. They jump out at you, fans fear playing against them, and teams game plan to take them out. My bar for that type of player may be higher than most. Quote

I was jealous watching the Philly game last night Yeah Jordan Davis, Keeanu Benton, and T'Vondre Sweat are all guys in recent years I was hoping we could somehow get but didn't fall nearly far enough for us. Also really liked Alim McNeill but he's more of a 3T. Anyone in those molds for this year's draft? 1 1 Quote

I just heard Jim Nagy on Sirius (he scouts players for the Senior Bowl) say this will be a great year for defensive line, both inside and outside. He also said this will be a bad year for the offensive line. That should work well for the Bills! 2 Quote

I think we may draft more than one if Daquan really has hit the wall. Oliver needs a solid 1-tech next to him and those can be found on day 2 and 3. But hopefully we also find another pass rusher? finn Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Given that he's ineffective even against much lesser interior linemen that KC has, how about lining up Oliver against the left tackle on passing downs? He's quick and powerful, and he might be more effective than Epenesa, who usually gets glued to the block. I should be an NFL consultant. 😁 Quote

I'd like to see a few times He's made maybe 2 plays all year it feels like? 1 Quote

Both are Juniors so they could stay another year. Both serious talent and are probably going to be day 1 and 2 picks. I like the Grant kid more though. Love the kid from Kentucky; Walker. Don’t know if he declares this year. Same goes with Nolan who transferred from A&M to Ole Miss. One who definitley will be in the draft is Ohio State’s Williams. That kid has some quality potential. mjt328 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago There are only a handful of ELITE pass rushers, who can rack up 15-20 sacks per year regardless of scheme or other players around them. TJ Watt and Myles Garrett are basically the Patrick Mahomes/Josh Allen of the DE world, and everyone else is a notch below. Greg Rousseau has taken that step into Top 5-10 status. But he's not quite fast enough to put up HUGE numbers without additional help along the D-Line. In the same QB terms, he's probably in the Jalen Hurts/Justin Herbert tier. Outside of Rousseau, the Bills have just not gotten a consistent push from the right side of the line, or from the middle. Ed Oliver just doesn't seem to have the size to beat double-teams (and makes very little impact otherwise), and DaQuan Jones has taken a huge step-backwards this season. Quote
JohnNord Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago This is going to be another game against Kansas City that Ed Oliver will be MIA. It always happens when faced the interior of Kansas City. He never does anything. Quote
