Sometimes you just have to applaud the other team and say - excellent gameplan, executed excellently. And the Ravens did that on Sunday. They neutralised what on paper looked like our advantage and maximised what on paper looked like theirs. A nice way of saying the Bills got the ***** kicked out of them. Quote

RichRiderBills Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Ed continues to be MIA. He's on pace for the worst statistical season of his career. Dreadful #s. He's been a huge letdown. 1 2 1 Quote

Sorry not sorry, Oliver is who we thought he was. Shouldn’t have been the pick and shouldn’t have been rewarded for being mediocre. Without somebody dominating next to him, he’s a nobody. 1 Quote
thenorthremembers Posted November 12 Posted November 12 He's been ok. Nothing new with Ed. He has his best seasons when the 1 tech playing next to him plays well enough for him to play free. Jones has been bad, not sure he isn't washed. When Ed has to do too much it doesn't go well. 2 Quote

Metcalf had a lot of hype but a lot of receivers were taken ahead of him and he was the 64th pick, Ed was 8 I think. Point is there was hype but no consensus among NFL people about Metcalf. It's always a crapshoot to some degree. I have yet to see any good objective analysis of GM's ability to select players, it is hard to do but Beane has been very good. Ford was a dud, Basham and Elam are others. But then you have guys like Bernard and Benford. Mostly his players have done well, it takes some of them time to get there.... 1 Quote

Cause most snap judgments when he got the extension were negative, or at the least fairly skeptical. People only really softened their stance after the season began, and Oliver was pretty damn hot out the gate at the beginning of the season. If you want to bash his contract right now tho, I’d say the door is wide open for majority support 😆 Quote

He's been a huge letdown. This has been his worst season since his sophomore year in 2020. Yes he had an injury that kept him out but the Seattle game apart (where he was excellent) he has been a no show this season. I'm the biggest Ed Oliver fan going and he has been a terrific player for the Bills the past three seasons even if the sack numbers only came last year, but he has not been good in 2024. The fact that Jones's form alongside him has fallen off a cliff might be a factor, but Ed just has to play better. 3 Quote
JP51 Posted November 12 Posted November 12 12 hours ago, Jerboski said: Oliver and jones have been bad Definitely the achilles of the D... just getting gashed up the middle and leaving undersized LB and S to take on lineman and shed blocks... Jones I get ... diminishing skill getting older... Oliver I dont, just dont think he is very good... or at least just happy with his Big contract. Upgrade definitely needed at DT. Quote
