He is too good of a player to be invisible for entire games. Different season, same player.

😞

You realize he spent most of the night in a spy/contain role making sure Jackson couldn't hurt us with his feet?

And that the majority of the Ravens success in the run game came on the edges.

You want to complain about him being invisible (to you), talk to the coaches who assigned him that role.

Agreed. Ed has always been an up and down guy.

To be fair where has Rousseau been since his 3 sack game to start the year?? Henry ran right past him as he was blocked by the RT on the 87 yard TD.

It’s like clockwork that they both have one strong game early in the year, we think they’re about to emerge as a superstar, then they fade into the background with sporadic contributions.

Neither of them is a bad player by any means, but also neither of them is a top shelf, takeover the game stud.

A 300 lb DT in a spy role against the fastest QB in the NFL?  If true, that is some brilliant scheming by McD and Babich. 😂

He’s a good player.  Rousseau is a good player.   Every team would love to have them and they’re top tier DL starters.

What they are not though.. is game wreckers.   We don’t have any of those.

We don’t have a Chris Jones, Nick Bosa, Maxx Crosby, TJ Watt etc..  There aren’t many of them, but the questions we ask are the same questions Jets fans ask of Quinnen Williams or Bengals fans of Trey Hendrickson and the list goes on.

It is what it is … and it’s a major reason why KC has Super Bowl rings.  They have the game-wrecker on Defense to go with an elite QB play.

The team that beat us last night doesn’t have that either.  They just have more good healthy players than us right now on defense.

It is likely because the back up LB’s and S’s can’t be trusted.

I think the defense was benefited from a few opportunistic plays. I’ve been worried about Spector/Lewis being exposed for a few weeks.

We can absorb Spector with Bernard/Milano. Lewis is a fine back up with a better safety tandem and/or both LB’s healthy. We’d feel better about Hamlin/Rapp if everybody in front was at 100%.

But as it stands now those guys all need everything to go right for them to be a consistently quality unit.

He wasn’t always in a spy role.  Don’t be fooled Oliver had a bad game, as did DaQuan and the rest of the DL.

Here he gets blasted out of the picture on this wham block.  Reminds me of the Indy game from a few years back.

The D-ends were rushing straight up field like they always do. They take themselves out of every play, whether it be a pass or a run. Technique is out the window with these jokers.

Not to mention Lamar’s 1TD, 54 yards and a 9+ yard average. Bang up job I tell ya. Great thing we paid big money to a DT to play babysitter (terribly I might add) to the most mobile QB in the league. What a waste
