B-Man Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Senator Vance won the coin flip and will get to go last. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/cbs-debate-rules-vp-debate-2024/
ChiGoose Posted September 30 Posted September 30 As far as one can tell who "wins" a debate, I have to think Vance is the favorite here. Walz has a lot of positive qualities, but he's not known for his debating skills. Plus, predicting and having responses for whatever the latest nonsense online hoaxes Vance has fallen for has got to be difficult.

JD has been smoked at debates before. He called the guy he's running with Hitler. He's an easy target. I wouldnt be scared debating him. He stands for nothing real. He's an absurd liar, easily, easily proven. His online adds have been spectacular fails - lied about the price of eggs when the real price was in the background. I suspect Vance is extremely book smart. But public speaking, advertising for what you stand-for? Surprisingly awful. Even if Walz doesn't perform extraordinarily well I'd put my money on Walz winning big here. He can say more edgy things Kamala can't get away with. 1 1 4

She said she believed that Biden sexually assaulted/inappropriately touched women. She spread vaxx misinformation during a major pandemic with millions of lives on the line. What’s a bridge too far? What an odd perspective. Oh, we're going to pretend that misinformation offends now are we? How utterly laughable coming from a Trump sycophant. NOW you care about vax misinformation? Hope you didn't drink too much bleach before you started caring. Of course a potential VP can get away with saying things that a pres nominee can't, VP debates are forgotten 99% of the time, the polar opposite of presidential debates. He can say virtually what he wants knowing that it will likely be lost out of the news cycle by next week, barring saying something memorable or causing a Vance flub, which is likely. Vance is the swamp incarnate. A banal, chubby, swamp creature, running alongside the guy he thinks is like Hitler. The only thing I worry about is that the standard for our people is infinitely higher than the standard you have for the scum you elect. 1

I asked for some clarity on your post about “edgy things” that Harris “can’t get away with”. Those were your thoughts, not mine. Unpredictably, that lead you to this…an odd (there’s that word again) monologue about Trump, bleach, your chubby chasin’ ruminations on Vance’s BMI, your preferred version of acceptable disinformation, and thoughts on weekly news cycles. 1 1 1 2

K D Posted October 1 Posted October 1 These morons said Biden had won the debates too. They will never admit when Walz gets destroyed tonight or they will twist it and say he's only the VP so it doesn't matter. Yea well they said that about Kamala too and now she's been forced to run for president. Don't look at this as "it's only the VP" when this person could very well be the president of the country at some point. 1
B-Man Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 Jump in a time machine with me, my friends, as I write a review of the 2024 vice presidential debate before it even begins. There is a very real possibility that this is going on a lot in American media tonight, and I'm just the only one being honest about it. The Democrats' flying monkeys in the mainstream media are forbidden from admitting that the Republican is the winner of a vice presidential debate. Never mind the fact that the Dem candidate rarely wins these things; the hacks have their marching orders from the Democratic National Committee. All the "Walz really delivered some zingers" recaps that you will see tonight are almost certainly being pre-written as we speak. I remember watching Dick Cheney wipe up every floor in the continental United States with John Edwards in 2004, only to spend the next day reading and hearing glowing accounts of Edwards's win. Um...no. As for the 2024 installment, this one was over long before it began. True, the Democrats have been living in an alternate timeline since Madame Veep helped depose her boss, but there is no universe in which the prevaricating goofball Tim Walz will be sharper than JD Vance. He is slightly less incoherent than Kamala Harris, but that's like patting yourself on the back because you don't drink as much Jack Daniels as Keith Richards. As we have seen time and time again throughout this campaign, JD Vance is one cool customer under the glare of the television lights. He absolutely steamrolls the MSM's Dem propagandists when they attempt to hit him with false premises and "Gotcha!" questions. It's rarely any fun watching a Republican politician dealing with the press, but I'd buy a ticket to watch Vance smack down Kaitlan Collins or Jake Tapper. Yes, the questions will be horrible. Senator Vance, why do you favor bombing Haitian migrants, and is it true that you think all babies and kittens are ugly? The Democrats' MSM lapdogs have not had much luck trying to trip up Vance. When Donald Trump first tapped him as his running mate, I wrote that Vance's celebrity status before he got into politics helped him better deal with the hostile press. He's been proving me right ever since. Many people question whether the vice presidential debate means anything at all. I would probably just give it a shrug in a normal election year. This is not a normal election, though. Who knows what might or might not help? It's best to pay a lot of attention to every detail when the future of the Republic is at stake. https://pjmedia.com/stephen-kruiser/2024/10/01/the-vp-debate-hasnt-happened-yet-but-jd-vance-has-already-won-n4932961 1 1

No you're right, "we" are not pretending. You are. I provided clarity, with an example of 100x more dangerous / amplified covid misinformation that you oddly don't seem to care about. I mean, I could provide many more examples but why bother? You do not care when your guy breaks the rules that you call Kamala out for. 1

By extension, of course, you were wrong, maybe due to the emotional investment you have on these issues. Things can get confusing when people lose their cool. Can you imagine, L Ronbo, if another person was like 150x more dangerous...or 175x more dangerous...or even 262x more dangerous? That would be like, way way more for sure. On the other hand, 17x more dangerous would be less. As you say, all would still represent danger, just some more, some less. 1 2

You may even get old people too confused to understand fact from fiction on the internet, isn't that crazy? They start listening to other foolish old people in power that advocate crazy things to treat illnesses, like Ivermectin for covid. Next thing you know Billy Bob from Arkansas is taking veterinary grade Ivermectin and croaking. But I'm sure Kamala is no different, yes siree. I'm sure she inspired stories like the one below. Of course, Kamala never spread covid misinformation. I'm betting you're referring to her vax comments where she shared doubt in efficacy. Not a responsible thing to say but hardly misinformation. https://www.unmc.edu/healthsecurity/transmission/2023/03/14/an-ivermectin-influencer-died-now-his-followers-are-worried-about-their-own-severe-symptoms/ 1
