So far WR group looks like a dumpster fire

I want you to justify that take by telling us what the Ravens D ran tonight.

When you can't I'll be locking this thread eventually and re-opening the other WR thread which was significantly higher in quality and more informed.

Not trying to be a jerk; just letting you know why it's going to happen.

Maybe you can enlighten us about the Ravens' defensive formations. That would probably increase the quality of the thread and better inform us.

Coleman had his best game despite the drop which was pretty encouraging. He wasn’t used until they had to push it downfield. To be honest it might be a game where Allen comes out with more confidence in him. He’s probably coming out with less confidence in Hollins, dude was terrible tonight.

Most of the OPs post is true.

Using Samuel as a gadget player is foolish. He probably better than Hollins at just about everything but blocking.

You don't define a WR by one play. Have you seriously never watched him play? He runs a 4.43 and has an elite level composite speed RAS, and he's ultra successful at go routes. He's not a 1 trick pony where he's just a deep threat guy, but he absolutely has that skill set.

As for MVS, him not producing tonight doesn't change my statement. He's known aroudn the league as a deep-ball specialist and has been for years.

You think Shakir is a deep threat? Show me the last deep ball Josh connected with him on. I’ll wait. And as more MVS once again was he even active this evening?

More players in smaller rolls are gonna be a tell when teams are studying film. MVS is a one trick pony, he steps on the field the D gotta a good idea where he’s going. Shakir has the speed to get deep, just because he wasn’t used that way doesn’t mean in can’t get mixed in. Samuel is the same way. Kincaid can run deeper then yard routes and screens but he’s not. Knox can do a lot more than what’s on his plate too, it’s just everybody got limited rolls right now.

Shakir is a very good player but he's not Edleman or Welker.  Maybe he could be if he got a higher volume of targets.

Samuel is a free agent bust either becuase of injury or just lack of skill. $8M for 6 catches in four games!

Hollins has 4 catches in 4 games. On pace for 17 catches which is actually what he has done during most of his career

Coleman can't seperate from anyone. People eviscerated Diggs for a playoff game drop that was far more difficult than the pass Coleman dropped tonight.

MVS is nonexistent. I mistakenly thought he would be better. Maybe he would if he got some of Hollins' or Samuel's snaps.

Diggs has 25 receptions

Five Bills WR combined have 40 receptions

Someone on here said Allen is smiling on the sideline because Diggs is gone. Didn't see Allen smiling tonight.

The one thing they missed in Digg's absence tonight wasnt just the catches, it was Diggs attitude. None of the Raven defenders looked the least bit intimidated or threatened by our receivers.  Yes Diggs did have a bad attitude in some areas but that bad attitude could be directed against the opposition quite effectively.

Shakir is great, crapping on him because he got dinged a bit and the Ravens sat on(took away the RAC) him all night is a bit much, and Coleman got going as the game went on.

Shakir is excellent, but he can’t do it alone.  I do see Ethan’s point in the others look pedestrian at best.

Funny, I didn't see this thread last week . . .

It’s been here for months. The other one is like 200 pages. It’s less about “these guys suck” and more about “are these guys good enough?” Those of us that have been skeptical, aren’t riding the roller coaster each week. We we are looking at the body of work. Shakir is Beasley that can run after the catch. Coleman has good body control and is covered like a blanket every play. They have no idea what to do with Samuel. MVS and Hollins are scrubs.

I had the sound down and didn't hear anything, but there was one replay from behind the offense where you could "sort of" see Coleman and it looked like the two DBs he was splitting were both possibly flat-footed.

It was difficult to get any depth on the view from that angle though.

Oh god.

this was probably typed and saved in July and finally because they lost he got to post it.

It was a bad matchup for Buffalo tonight on the road and they played poorly on top of it.  It’s a long season.  All these declarations after a loss in September are pretty telling from people.

It’s not a dumpster fire but what I saw tonight was a WR group that’s extremely limited in certain game scripts.  This was my biggest concern with how the position was addressed.

Tonight the Bills fell behind and they needed to get open deep downfield and really no one could.

I was fine with moving on from Diggs but always felt that the Bills didn’t do enough to replace him.

Big mistake not taking Worthy!!!

Worst pass defense in the league after three games is the funniest thing getting parroted here 😂. Say what you will about the cowboys in the playoffs but they light it up in the regular season, then they had the chiefs week 1.  That’s 66% percent of their games right there.

so Dallas and KC are thar much better passing offensives?  If so, that proves the OP’s point.

Last week, they were great, this week it sucks.  Its a long season and one game on week 4 does not equal dumpster fire.

Wrong.

McD HAS TO GO.  And Brady?!   Man. The nerve tying a trick play.

Our WR corps is the worst in the league.  Samuel trade was trash.

Fire everyone.  Gut and restart.  And don’t get me started on this D.

😇

(this is sarcasm people)
