Recency bias at its finest. Peterman is the worst player ever. He threw 5 INTS in his first half. There is no doubt that he would have had 3 more that game. He had irrational confidence. That guy tried to throw the out with the arm strength of a 7 year-old girl named Olivia.

The people that remember him fondly are the ones that were, wrongly, screaming for him to play. Teams continuing to employ him is nothing more than a smart, low maintenance, scrub to give the defense confidence during the week.

I don't remember him finely at all Kirby. I just don't put ruining one game that we likely were going to lose no matter what and didn't keep us from going to the playoffs in the same light as ruining our best season in quite a while (1976).

You can’t throw 5 INTs in a half and get a pass. When asked to play, he performed worse than every guy ever. The fact that the Bills continued to play Marangi doesn’t change that. Peterman would have thrown 30 INTs with that opportunity.

Your terrible visions of Allen’s night just don’t seem to happen to him in NFL games. Sit back, relax and enjoy watching this Bills QB play football. You may never see anything quite like him in a Bills uni again.

It’s the rare occasion I disagree with Gunner, but I think this team would be 0.500 without Allen. He is the catalyst. He is the glue.

Even the defense would play worse with a Tyrod or Fitz. You see defenses quit every week in the NFL because their offense has no fire.

Allen is the cog in this machine. Let’s not pretend like we have such a talented roster that we would win with average QB play. We don’t.

I don't think that is a disagreement. It is just a comment on the three games we have played so far. We played a Miami team that our defense totally dominated. And a Jags team that was frankly pathetic. Serviceable low end starter / high end backups like Tyrod and Fitz would have won those games.

I don't think the Bills would be better than a 7 or 8 win team if they had those guys for a full year without a whole lotta luck. But I do think they would be 2-1 right now. Because McDermott and Babich took McDaniel's lunch money and the Jags had quit the moment they walked on the field.

I remember before that game I was warning people to be careful what you wish for, since I had been through the whole "we want Marangi" years.  I even went so far as to call Peterman "Nathan Marangi" before the game.  I went to the game & at halftime I had to call a fellow Bills fan & laugh at Peterman.  After the game I went on one of the Bills message boards & posted an apology to Gary Marangi for comparing him with Nathan Peterman.  Yes, Peterman was bad that day, but he was a rookie being thrown into the fire on the road.  Marangi was in his 3rd season when he set the NFL record for completion % futility.

Can you imagine Drew Bledsoe with the pass rush they faced?  Likely double digit sacks, a few fumbles and maybe a couple INTs thrown in.

Bledsoe would have shown up to the Roast of Bill Belichick in a wheel chair

John Elway always got my vote as 'Bolt Neck', but nobody lurched around in a better imitation of Frankenstein's monster than the Bills edition of Drew Bledsoe. 😁
