Why does MAGA have to lie about literally everything?

Because reality is ugly for them  Uglier than this terrible tragedy.  The truth is their enemy.

World Kitchen has proven its value over many tragedies.  If you want to donate to individuals, go for it.  If you want to donate to an entity proven to be a huge asset to weather victims, Chef Andres' charity is an excellent choice.  We chose to give to the local United Way as did several important local businesses.  The disparagement of these vital charities is shameful.

Weird that the video cuts out in the middle of a sentence.

Would be a little embarrassing for you if the next words out of his mouth were "an immediately almost, they added an additional 30 counties" and then go on to explain that he expects the numbers to go up as FEMA gets more data...

Here is a link to the full interview.

Theres a disconnect between those on the ground in Asheville and those in desperate straits a few miles outside the city.

Two very different worlds right now.

15% of United way goes to themselves. They're not the level of non profit that even just Samaritan's Purse or Red Cross is... And they can take whatever is donated it and send it to somolia or Siberia.

I'm not in NC right now.  A good friend picked up his son and his family from there earlier this week.  They're living with him now for the foreseeable future.  Asheville is not doing well.  I'm pretty familiar with rural WNC.  There are only a few major roads thru the mountains there and I've been on most of them at one time or another.  The terrain without those roads is extremely challenging.  No doubt there are people still in great need and they are getting anxious, hungry, thirsty and angry.  (as an aside, people who grew up in these areas are often quite skilled in survival efforts like canning, hunting, fishing etc)  But demonizing those in the government who are trying to help is evil.  Damascus Va is no Asheville.  It's rural and red.  The United Way has set up a volunteer area at the entrance to town.   It's well organized.  It's extremely well stocked.  Many folks don't want their property worked on til insurance adjusters and FEMA evaluate.  I have yet to hear of anyone there complaining about FEMA.  But everyone is talking about the disaster and what is being done to help.

Be careful out there.

I thought this might be the issue.

I remember back when there was an earthquake that leveled the capital of Haiti.  The US military took over the airport, set up a mobile air traffic control station and took over access to the airport.  Several private individuals and charities complained about the US Air Force.  One of the most vocal critics was Doctors Without Borders.  The Air Force's issue was that planes were landing with insufficient fuel to take off again.  The airport didn't have fuel so these plane would just take up space.  Doctors Without Borders landed and wouldn't simply unload their airplane and fly it out.  It just took up space.  Good intentions clogged up the airport and slowed efforts down.

"United Way of Southwest Virginia has activated the 2024 SWVA Regional Disaster Relief Fund to assist those impacted by the flooding.

All 2024 SWVA Regional Disaster Relief Fund donations will go directly to support those impacted by the September 2024 flood."

That's swva.  It all. Not the federal UW.

Also, everyone please view this for your own conclusions

Take a look at the board of United Way of SWVA.  These are all local folks with the majority of their friends and family in the region.  They care.  Other regional United Ways are similar.  What did the United Way do to you?

It’s not evil to criticize the government when Mayorkas says they don’t have enough money after all the documented expenditures going to illegal immigrants (and in a broader sense, foreign wars)

You can say R’s should have authorized more money, but why would they authorize more taxpayer money when it seems like a Herculean effort to earmark it for actual Americans?

Bottom Line.. this has not been a strong response so far.  Not on any level.

Hopefully they get their act together, because there’s people lives in the balance and once we get out of the search and rescue phase, it’s going to take a hell of a lot more than $750 for these people to rebuild their communities and lives.

This is a lie.  Congress appropriates money.  Congress appropriated money to FEMA for disaster relief.  That money was not used for illegal immigrants.  Donald Trump is lying to you.

I'm guessing you were to lazy to listen to what she said and relied on changed context.  What she said was correct.  FEMA did not use relief money on illegal migrants.
