Matt who? - Dorian Williams - What will the Bills do when Milano can return?

Oliver has sucked this year. Jones is invisible and couldn’t make a play if nobody was guarding him. Our DE’s are very very inconsistent. 
We came into this year depleted because of being in cap hell. And the players Beane brought in flat out suck.

I blame the front office if things go south this year. Beane gets too much credit and not enough criticism. To me he is a below average GM. With the way he’s managed the cap and the draft picks he’s chosen have been less than stellar. 
I could never see teams like KC, Balt, SF keeping beane around after all his bad decisions. But he has a lifetime employment contract with the bills who think he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Dorian Williams isn’t at Milano’s ceiling yet by any means, but he’s shown well and has been a starter all year. McDermott is usually hesitant to shake up a starting lineup after it’s been set and can we really say it’s Milano’s spot if he hasn’t started a game since October of last year? 
 

I think they’ll bring him along slowly and possibly platoon him into the game on obvious passing downs where he’d be a clear upgrade over Williams.

Yeah, it might take a game or two for Milano to get up to speed, but another thing McD doesn’t hesitate to do is put the best 11 on the field. When Milano is 100%, he will resume the starter’s role because he is a better player than Williams. So I’ll say it, it’s Milano’s spot.

Put Matt on a pitch count and bring him back slowly. Dorian is playing great and is part of a tandem with Bernard that is a big part of 9 and 2. Matt is an all pro OLB but at this point in his career, he’s a good bet to hit IR before the playoffs if he’s the starter. Let’s just get him in game shape and in the flow and set him loose in the playoffs.

Agreed, but it will be good to have options. I trust that McDermott will figure out how to get all of that talent on the field.

Tre White as well. It’s unfortunate to see all pro players’ have their career derailed by injuries, but it happens. We’re all pulling for Milano to return to form but nothing is guaranteed at this point.

A healthy Matt Milano should start over Dorian Williams. I have faith this is something he can come back fully from, but you always have to see.

They did some stuff vs KC where Dorian rushed the QB on the edge and they took off a DT. I’m pretty sure this is what they’re going to do. 
 

Something like a 3-4. Bills have some stuff planned. It’ll be a light 3-4 with Williams and Taron Johnson on the field. Bills aren’t afraid to play small. Basically a 3-3-5.

You don´t have to take Taron out, you can take Hamlin out and we will have a much better defense.

He's not even at his floor. 

 

This is clearly a joke. Williams has been a step or two late every read in pass coverage. He's like Edmunds but smaller. Edmunds made up for his slow reads and poor position with his size and athleticism. Williams just has athleticism.

 

The chiefs picked on him. They couldn't run on us because our DL played strong. No credit to Williams though he did spy on Mahomes successfully a few times. No easy feat.

Williams is a solid player and it's nice that you can confidently rely on him if Milano comes back slowly or comes back a noticeably lesser player. But I think Milano at 80-85% is still better than Williams and gives us an elite LB unit. It's not a knock on Williams who will definitely be used to keep both Bernard and Milano fresh and healthy.
