I don't think there will be much of that "he doesn't really want to be a HC" vibe. He knows he's good and he can afford to wait for the right situation. Personally, I think any OC who has Prime Josh Allen as his QB would be crazy to leave for ANY other situation, HC or OC, without first hoisting at least one Lombardi. Not sure I agree with that. It's still a people business first and foremost. If word gets out that he leads you up the path and then ultimately won't commit it will count against him. When your name gets a mark against it in the league it can be tough to overcome. I think he will get interviews this year. But I doubt he sweeps the board for interview requests as he has the last two years. Quote

He definitely isn't prototypical height, but has really long arms and huge production on every level. I'm not at all saying he will be Von, but don't totally rule him out just because of his height. I'm not ruling it out but I just think it will be hard at that height to be a 3 down 4-3 DE Quote
Sierra Foothills Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 Von isn't an every down edge anymore but he has 3 sacks in 3 weeks. Anyone who can consistently pressure the QB has great value in the NFL. Whether or not Javon can be an every down edge isn't really that important. JMO. 1 Quote
BigDingus Posted September 28 Posted September 28 You know who else no one is talking about? David Edwards. People have talked about the OL quite a bit, but you always hear about Dawkins being the anchor (and his podcast/media appearances), Spencer Brown's improvement & new contract, McGovern's move to Center, or Torrence because of where he was drafted & starting all those games as a rookie. But Edwards? Radio silence. I'm guessing that's a good thing, as that means he's not making any big mistakes or giving up a ton of pressures. 3 Quote

If the OL plays at a level near what they have so far in Baltimore....that would be super impressive. Chance to be widely recognized as a Top OL right now. 1 1 Quote

Beane has been on absolute fire the last couple drafts. I always laugh when people try to claim the Bills are only Josh Allen and a bunch of JAGS. We have talent scattered on all sides of the ball. The only drawback is since losing Diggs, we don’t have any true elite blue chip skill players on offense. James Cook has a chance if he can keep pace for the season. Honestly though, it’s starting to make more sense having a roster full of “really good” players w/ their own unique skill set along with depth with no huge drop off opposed to a couple game wreckers eating a ton of salary cap. Yes, it would be nice to have someone like Justin Jefferson, but If I am going to shell out that type of bread, it’s going to be towards the trenches. 2 Quote

Baltimore’s D-line is going to be their biggest test so far. Getting the RBs going EARLY is going to pay huge dividends. Hopefully, Allen won’t have to put on his cape, but it’s a good insurance policy either way. I think Brady will have a nice game plan “cooked” up. This game has massive implications for the AFC as a whole and the #1 seed. Plus, they have the Texans & Jets coming up, 2 more tough AFC matchups. 1 Quote
