strive_for_five_guy Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Of all the QBs drafted this year, Daniels’ college tape reminded me ALOT of Josh. 1 Quote

I agree Daniels looks good, but Maye not starting isn’t necessarily an indication of anything more than the Pats knew they were taking a guy who wasn’t quite ready to go and are doing him a favor of not throwing him to the wolves out of the gate. There was a time, not that long ago, where it was common practice for QBs to sit and learn before being handed the reins. I would argue in most cases, that’s still the best way to do it. Too many guys are playing before they are ready and have their confidence rocked. It takes a special player to jump in and produce right away AND maintain that. There have not been many rookie sensations at QB that have lasted more than a season, the more common path is to struggle and be a nobody or struggle and take 3 years to become somebody. For every Striud there are 6 Bryce Youngs and for every Josh Allen, there are 50 wrong Josh’s. QBs don’t grow on trees and developing them has worked out more than throwing them out there. I hate the Pats, but I think they are doing the right thing. 1 1 Quote

US Egg Posted September 25 Posted September 25 (edited) Here’s hoping the kid is legit and then some. There’ll never be enough good QB’s in the league. Above average QB’s are the exception, not the norm. Edited September 25 by US Egg Quote

It seems like the first time in half a decade that a good rookie QB went to an NFC team, instead of an AFC one. Imagine if Carolina hadn't "Carolina-d" the Bruce Young pick, and Houston was an afterthought? How much easier would our path the the SB, for the foreseeable future, have been? Quote
Mikie2times Posted September 25 Posted September 25 I got him at +600 to win offensive rookie of the year prior to the start of the season. That throw he made to close out the Bengals game was incredible. 1 1 Quote

WotAGuy Posted September 25 Posted September 25 It’s crazy to me that some college players come into the NFL and are immediately better than they were in college. Quote

Low Positive Posted September 25 Posted September 25 My only concern is that he's taking a lot of hits and his build is kind of slight, especially in the lower body. 1 Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Wonder what bears fans are thinking…. 1) drafted trubisky over mahomes (and others) 2) drafted fields in what is turning out to be the weakest QB draft class. 3) drafted Caleb Williams over Jayden Daniels. 1 Quote

At this point in their rookie years, Josh looked like a guy that couldn't throw and Sam Darnold was throwing for over 300 yards per game. Quote
zow2 Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Daniels is definitely better this early than I thought he'd be. His LSU completion% has transferred nicely to the NFL. The guy is so chill he doesn't seem phased. His heartbeat is probably 50 BPM at the start of games. The only question is would he take too many sacks but he's using his legs to get out of trouble when necessary. Quote
BuffaloBaumer Posted September 25 Posted September 25 It was so beyond obvious that this kid was by FAR the best QB in that draft. It astonishes me that GMs can be so wrong when it seems so obvious. Quote
