Barenaked Ladies have a song, Get Back Up, which has these lyrics that I think would be good for in game...

"Get back, get back up
You gotta get back, get back up
You got a whole stadium on their feet, it's not about a victory or a defeat
See you gotta get back, get back up
You gotta get back, get back up"

But the music just does not fit a football game atmosphere.

When it comes to perseverance and getting back up again, I’ve always been a big fan of Tubthumping:

Fun fact…somehow the Killers have never played WNY. That would be quite the nice first concert at the new stadium.

Not sure they’re a stadium act but it’s better than the inevitable Taylor Swift or some bro-country trash.

Would be pretty cool to have them do a live performance of just that song before, during, or after a game.

anyone ever see the vid of when Metallica performed live for VT?

Edit:

Ive watched the videos so many times but never been there. I swear I saw they once performed it live for VT I can’t seem to find it. Maybe I’m mistaken if they’ve done it live. Either way, would be awesome.

Songs like this are supposed to get the crowd in a good mood and loud. Not be about football.

its generational too.  If you’re older than 30 or 35 do you even know this song?

If you want some others that get a rowdy crowd going,  Scotty doesn’t know and what’s my age again are good for people under 40 (ie most rowdy football fans) I’m not sure they are appropriate tho

Michigan don’t do this anymore?

It’s what’s giving their fans life when they watch their offense play football

It's a metaphor for life itself. As Bills fans, we can relate to having the thing we want most slip through our fingers, time and time again. The message of the song is instead of letting jealously and bitterness rot your life away, embrace your destiny and become Mr. Brightside.

Finally read through the thread because I wanted to see if anyone had this take--completely agree with this!

Interesting song to choose, as it is about a guy obsessing over a girl in an unhealthy way.

But it's a great song. Great guitar riff (a little more difficult to play than you would expect). Great vibe.

I'd totally support making this a thing. Better than a lot of the crap country and hip-hop that is played.

Um, yes, I'm older than 35 by a longshot and remember when the song came out in 2004.

I think that song belongs to Gen X.

If not what is THE Gen X anthem?

Boomers it’s any Fleetwood Mac song.

I wouldn't call it a gen X anthem, but it certainly is a good song that spans GenX and younger generations. For a GenX anthem I would probably go with something from the early-mid 90s when most of us were in our late teens to mid-20s.

I was thinking something a little different. Maybe a Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Jane's Addiction song. That's a little more in the GenX wheelhouse. If it was just me I'd go with maybe a Pixies song or maybe even Beck.

Age 63 and yes. You're out of touch with that question.
