All for righteous anger and defending one's self but vengeance should not be politicized. I agree that all children should be 100% protected but I do see some situations which are truly heinous. I don't feel this guy deserved the death penalty but there are definitely some cases where it is warranted in my mind.
Doc Posted September 26 Posted September 26 The death penalty should be reserved for those who are caught red-handed and without any doubt they committed the murder.
Wacka Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Watch the video Buffarkus posted. The scum was 100% guilty. Should have visited Old Sparky years ago.
Westside Posted September 26 Posted September 26 The left wants to save murderers but have no problem killing innocent babies. weird and hypocritical.

Maybe this defendant did “it,” maybe he didn’t. I have no idea. What I do know is that there are too many death row exonerations in this country, and too much racial imbalance in the application of the death penalty, for me consider state-sponsored killing acceptable. That's the first thing there can be No Maybe !! It has to be No doubt what so ever and every bit of evidence proves the crime at every turn ! To me 3 hots and a cot is not enough of a deterrent for some of the crimes committed and i feel if some (not all of the criminals) knew that they could face the death penalty that it could have a effect on their way of thinking before committing the crime, but the proof of the crime has to be concrete in that there is NO doubt what so ever that the person did the crime and the punishment has to fit the crime . Like those that went in and shot up the kids in some of these schools those children are the essence of innocence, and if someone is that evil to walk in and pull a trigger of a gun on a child they deserve to die IMHO because that is premeditated on the most vulnerable and innocent of the human race !! And i in no way do i want to pay for them to go into a jail for us to pay for them to get a sex change operation or have conjugal visits, a gym, library, free health care, for the rest of their lives that is not punishment that's a free ride, all because your a scum bag that has murdered a bunch of innocent kids or something equally as bad . But if you haven't been able to tell i'm old school, todays world & the people in it have gotten way soft or sensitive !! Edited September 26 by T master 1

But if you haven't been able to tell i'm old school, todays world & the people in it have gotten way soft or sensitive !! It costs more to execute someone than it does to incarcerate them for life. Does that change your views? Also, we’re having sort of an “eligibility” discussion here, ie, is a particular crime and defendant eligible for the DP. Another issue is whether, if so eligible, the DP should be applied. In this country it is NOT applied equally in the basis of race; one study I read about 20 years ago indicates a black man is 22 times more likely to get the DP than is a white man for a commensurate crime.

I can't see how it would or should in any way cost more in comparison and would like to see the numbers on it . Common sense tells me that's not possible !! The only way i can see it is the lawyers going to a judge and putting it off, putting it off, costing more & more money to the tax payers for some more lawyer BS so they can get paid more money, also while trying to keep a known killer alive and people thinking the lawyer is trying to do the right thing all in the name of greed . Kind of like lobbiest's in DC !! So okay yah i can see why it would cost more in that light . And the ignorants toward color is something that definitely needs to be addressed and could be if evidence presented Beyond a shadow of a doubt to prove the crime was in place and used as it should be . Not a maybe he did maybe he didn't out come . 20 years ago things were much different all the way around than they are today especially when it comes to racial things . Even though there are those that don't want to admit it . Plus 20 years ago your research took you back even further into history of this and the further back you go the more ignorant people were when it came to racial issues .
Roundybout Posted September 26 Author Posted September 26 Why are right wing governors obsessed with killing people?

Orlando Buffalo Posted September 26 Posted September 26 @Roundybout @SectionC3 @Joe Ferguson forever to pretend this guy is not guilty is absurd. No one of any intelligence is claiming he is innocent because he knew too many details, he had her stolen goods and his girlfriend said he was wearing bloody clothes. The only issue is if the death penalty was warranted. The title of this thread is a lie, and I suspect you three know it is a lie.

There were constitutional errors surrounding how the case and evidence were handled.
