He was innocent. The prosecution even moved to vacate the man’s conviction. Yet the governor and the sick conservatives on the Supreme Court went ahead and did it anyway. Sick people.

Even if you’re not sure he is innocent, the fact that the victim’s family and the prosecutor’s office both opposed the execution should mean that the execution should not have happened.

Not sure if he’s innocent or not, but the death penalty should be abolished.

You are right he was guilty of being black in Missouri. The main witness said he made up his testimony, a long with the above people asking he not be executed.

the cry’s of “government overreach” sure seem quiet, maybe if he has said he was a nazi they would have protected his free speech.

DNA evidence proves Marcellus Williams is innocent.

Marcellus Williams is scheduled to be executed on Sept. 24 for a crime DNA proves he did not commit. The St. Louis County prosecuting attorney reviewed these DNA results and filed a motion to vacate Mr. Williams’ conviction because he believed the DNA results proved by clear and convincing evidence that Mr. Williams did not commit this crime. Although the circuit court has not yet scheduled a hearing to address this motion — and no court has ever considered the new exculpatory evidence — the Missouri Supreme Court set an execution date for Mr. Williams.

We have until Sept. 24 to stop the execution of an innocent person. Add your name to stop this injustice before it’s too late.

The worst part, many on here think this can’t be them, elect the felon and find out at your peril

I'm no fan of the death penalty except in the most extreme cases, and only then when there is absolutely no doubt as to guilt.

With that said, I've read some of the appeals to innocence for this guy, and frankly they were less than convincing. Still, in my mind not enough to warrant execution.

They really expect us to believe that he robbed this woman but someone else just happened to murder her on the same night. Lol

“Pro life” means anti abortion.

A 10 week pre born is worth more than the guy who was rightfully executed last night.

Hope this helps.

Ah, once again the arbiter of morality. Nope, pro life also means anti death penalty. Thou shalt not kill is quite clear

You once again show your ignorance of what is supposedly your own religion, regardless of what your false pontiff might state.

In Christianity, the death penalty is required of the state by God.

Ha ha this is funny. You obviously don’t know much about Christianity.

The death penalty was required under the mosaic law for specific things that were started in the law. The law was done away with when Jesus came to earth. Nowhere in the New Testament is the death penalty required.

Even the prosecution didn’t want him executed. This was a specific decision by the state.

It was a decision made by a jury of 12. A state’s attorney has no right to overturn it.

I am a pro-life conservative and find it hypocritical to be against abortion and for the death penalty.    All for righteous anger and defending one's self but vengeance should not be politicized.

It’s only hypocrisy if the preborn child in question also committed capital murder. Do you know of any such cases?

I find it hypocritical because my disapproval of abortion comes from my Christian values.  My dislike of the death penalty comes from the same place specifically the verses outlined in John 8 and Romans 3.   That said, the old testament is full of examples of the death penalty being just.

Because I believe the soul of a person can be saved by accepting Jesus Christ I don't think it's up to someone else to take their life before they are given that opportunity regardless of sin.

I also don't believe a person who commits murder should ever be released into a free society regardless of a potential religious conversion.

He had the victims belongings. He gave info to his girlfriend about the killing that had not been released to the press. The big deal about the DNA turned out to belong to one of the investigators that handled the knife so it wasn't an alternate suspect.
