In the NFL opponents are going to score. Teams are going to have turnovers.  Not every turnover and not every opponent score is a "bad" play, in the sense it is out of the ordinary.

By this standard, the Bills have had three bad plays this season. The TD return. Bass's missed FG, Bass's missed XP.  Thats it, all the other plays could be argued to be good plays by the opponent.

This is a truly remarkable run of three games.

PS.  I am old enough to remember the plan to build the team around a highly paid Ryan Fitzpatrick not that many eons ago, after a 3 game win streak.

Cook should be benched for 6 games for dropping the ball.

Jokes aside, him dropping passes like that could cost us big in a game where the score is a lot closer. He drops as many of those as he catches, going back to last year.

I am sure there were bad plays on those three opening drives against the Cardinals.  This team has been outstanding since then for 10 quarters.

I have been on Cook about his drops but that is a very tough catch for a RB. It is nothing like some of the lollipops he was dropping last year. That's the only one he's dropped this year so I really can't complain. Just keep catching the easy ones.

Allen's fumble in the first game. That was on him...not the defense making a good play. He held the ball far too long there.

Watching Cook over his time - I think that throw is very hard for him to catch.  That particular throw - over the top/shoulder with the receiver going straight away - is a WR style catch and Cook has missed on several of those over the last 2 years - especially last year.  I don’t think they are really drops as those are going to be very low percentage catches for him.

Cook is much better on the quick sideline routes and the crossing the middle style routes - where he can turn and get eyes on the ball and look it in.  I think Brady and Josh need to recognize that and adjust because Ty Johnson and Ray Davis seem better at that route.

It does not mean the Bills should not utilize Cook in the passing game or limit his plays, but maybe they need to look as his personal route tree and limit that specific type of throw and move him to something where he can really see the entire pass.

He is a good receiver out of the backfield and has shown that at every level he has played, but he looks very awkward when trying to catch that type of pass and he seems to misjudge and not make a hands catch like he does elsewhere on the field.

Was just about to post this...well said.  I think he struggles tracking the ball over his shoulder like a WR.  Which is fine, he is a RB for a reason.  Just hope that Brady and Allen pick up on that and focus on getting him the types of throws that are higher percentage catches for him.

Josh dropped that ball in like he handed it off to him. What a beautiful pass and a poor drop. Think Ray Davis would've caught it?

Im with you here on the very limited number of bad plays...but there are a few more.

  1. Allen Fumble - self inflicted
  2. 3 early penalties on the OL first half of AZ game
  3. 2 different missed throws by Allen down field to an open MVS
  4. Cook dropped TD pass...not the easiest catch, but one he needs to make
  5. Couple play calls I think Brady wants back

Still...a very short list for 3 games in.

I don't think I have ever been more pissed than when the news broke about Fitz new contract.  He got it over one game then went on to average 1 TD a game the rest of the season except for the Bengals game where he had 3 INTS until their entire secondary got hurt and he made a 4 TD game comeback.  He literally was trash almost every game that year and making it worse was all the people trying to argue to me that he was good and had a lot of TD's despite the fact they all came in just 2 of his games.

LOVE FITZ the person, the mindset and style of player, guy off the field.  But Ryan FitzPickSix the QB I had enough of as the Bill starter long before he wasn't the Bills QB here anymore.

He dropped 4 sure tds last season.  And I must have missed it but people are saying he dropped another td Monday?  It's all about concentration.

I guess we can't trust him on wheel routes anymore.  Finally saw the play. That pass by Josh was perfect.

I agree.  People are harsh on Cook because the video shows ball going through his hands...but what is not seen is the spectacular leap he made to reach that ball...He was a good 3-4 yards behind the ball.

I don’t know if I have ever seen blocking so bad on an extra point. I know Bass gets a lot of crap around here but the line did him absolutely no favors on that one the other night

Agreed and its already cost the Bills some games. There's been a whole lot of special team issues since Smiley came on board.
