Injury Report ???? - Taron Johnson, Bernard, Milano

When does Allen stop his Micael Jackson impression with that white glove? I’d really like to know what’s going on with that hand. Surely doesn’t seem to impact his performance though. Other than trying not to use it when handing off the ball.

Trent Murphy needs to be signed to practice squad and leak (and deny) that he will be activated for game and that he is on team just for practice.  Let Jackson see ghosts before game.

Not putting a player on IR doesnt necessarily mean they will only miss 4 weeks or less.  It just means they don't need the roster spot.

It also allows them to participate in ways they cannot when they are on injured reserve.

Milano isn’t in a brace, for what it’s worth.

I think we still don’t see him until Dec.

Bernard, who knows.

they all looked good on the sidelines. i couldn't see braces or slings. i expected Milano to be in a sling still.

Where do these guys stand right now? I assume Bernard will be out another couple weeks but not longer than 4 since he was not put on IR? What are they saying the timeline is on Taron? And for Milano, did I hear that right that he may be back some time in December if all goes well?

Were there any injuries last night?

Check Joe Marino's podcast yesterday. He had Dr. Kyle Trimble on and he had some interesting things to say, overall positive.

I don’t think he stops until he gets enough.

The way Lewis, Ingram, Spector and Williams are playing, I don't think they are going to rush any of these guys back.  What a nice problem to have when the backups are playing at such a high level you don't have to rush your pro-bowlers back into the lineup.

I’d like to get a LB back first, occasionally those guys are picked on. I worry about a better team getting the best of them, especially Lamar and the Ravens with how mobile he can be.

I am really high on Ingram so far. The kid has looked great. Cam Lewis is in a lot of tackles but he’s getting the ball thrown his way quite a bit. Would be nice to get Taron back quickly.

Bills need Taron Johnson against the Texans. The Texans have 3 very good WRs and the Bills play 4 teams this year that have 3 good/elite pass catching options (not including the RBs) (49ers, Seahawks, Lions and Texans). Taron should be on Diggs for the entire game

It’s always good to be optimistic. Visualization of good events sometimes leads to positive results. However if you remember how poorly Dawson Knox’s wrist injury was handled, you’d be taking every ray of sunshine that comes from the injury report with a FDA recommended serving of salt based on a 2000 calorie diet. The logic of “well they didn’t put him on IR so it shouldn’t be that long,” just doesn’t have a sterling track record. Even so, let’s visualize positive results.

The only injury I care about is the one on the left hand of #17.   Everything else is immaterial.

And it concerns that he keeps hiding that left hand below the table during his press conferences.

Grable out for "some time" with groin/core muscle injury

That sucks. Kid has looked good in his limited reps. Still, Van Demark was their swing tackle all of last year so they are not in too bad of a shape there. If Grable goes on IR I imagine Gouraige gets the call from the PS.

True, it doesn't, but the calculation is generally if you are sure they will miss more than 4 then you IR them, even if you don't "need" the roster spot immediately. Reason being if you need the roster spot 2 weeks later and then you IR the injured guy that is when the clock starts. When it's in that 3-5 week window teams are sometimes willing to take the risk. Any more than that it almost always means IR.

Taron should be in the slot all game.  Diggs won’t be in the slot all game

My quick to cents (not a doctor) is that it’s likely broken. On Amazon he held the mic with his left when asked and it was shaking. I’ve had a couple small “boxers fractures” over the years and it was similarly hard to hold stuff.

Williams is starting to play better. Milano will have not played football in 14-15 months when he may return. He was amazing before the injuries. It's still not certain he had fully recovered from leg injury.  Reports on camp he was slow in coverage.

Long time until then, but Milano may not be the starter when he returns. He will be 30 next year with a salary of over $9M.

Do we need Johnson more for Houston or Baltimore?

Id vote Houston and know he can shut down Diggs or their slot.

The coaches probably know exactly who to put on Diggs.

Johnson in spot time against Baltimore and fully back against Houston is my vote.

If it was broken though I’d think he’d require some type of surgery? I broke bones in my hand years ago. Had to have surgery and pins put in place for the bones to fuse back together properly. I dunno, maybe his isn’t as bad.

Depends on the severity and location of the break.    If the break goes through the skin or is broken in multiple places it will require surgery, otherwise its rare.
