dollars 2 donuts
(Updated over the course of the day…and moment by moment!) Yahoo Sports https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-week-4-power-rankings-bills-look-like-best-team-in-football-take-top-spot-035901463.html As I expected some are making the switch at Number 1…as they should! NBC SF https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/power-rankings-week-4-loss-rams/1784608/ Finally some respect. Arizona Republic https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/nfl/2024/09/23/nfl-power-rankings-week-4-2024-season/75343856007/ For which it stands…but come one, get with the program. No way you can watch the Atlanta and Jag games and not move the 1 and 2. USA Today https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/columnist/nate-davis/2024/09/24/nfl-power-rankings-chiefs-bills-vikings-steelers-seahawks/75358094007/ I didn’t argue with Houston being ahead of the Bills last week in some polls. Here the Texans take a pounding for that loss. CBS Sports https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-week-4-power-rankings-steelers-crack-top-5-as-mike-tomlin-showcases-brilliance-eagles-jets-make-jump/ “They are winning close games, but the record says they are undefeated. I still think the best is yet to come. Travis Kelce needs to pick it up.” Sure, what a compliment for number 1: “they’re winning close games.” Oh, and Kelce will wake up and be in his 20s tomorrow 🙄. he’s toast. Fox Sports (podcast version) https://www.foxsports.com/watch/fmc-leen5cl7a0qgi61 Displayed early, commented on at the end. Pro Football Network https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-power-rankings-week-4-2024/ Another one making the right move…based on facts. Also, I do love the enthusiasm, but it is 78-20, although 88-20 has a nice ring to it. NY Post https://nypost.com/2024/09/24/sports/nfl-power-rankings-for-week-4-parity-leaving-unexpected-outliers/ Some people so badly, seem to want to keep KC at number one. Like struggling against teams the week before to a team that is now 0-3 is some badge of honor. Its not. The 33rd Team https://www.the33rdteam.com/2024-nfl-week-4-power-rankings-vikings-challenge-chiefs-for-top-spot/ Thank you for the Bills, however, I must say you can’t keep a team in the top five at 1-2. You can’t. The bill suffer even in the rankings when they are riddled with injuries. 49ers should too. New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5788708/2024/09/24/nfl-power-rankings-week-4-bills-chiefs/ Headline: New York Times does the right thing! ESPN (Power Index) https://www.espn.com/nfl/fpi This is interesting and maybe more accurate. The chiefs not even at number 2. Sports Illustrated https://www.si.com/nfl/nfl-power-rankings-week-4-vikings-steelers-jets Oh gut check time now for the Bills? The MAC portion of their schedule is over? Got it. I also got that when we beat the Ravens next week they are suddenly not going to be that challenging of team that just barely lost to the Chiefs in week 1. The Bills don’t need the zebras to bail for them like the chiefs do. Bleacher Report https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10136370-br-experts-week-4-nfl-power-rankings-where-does-every-team-stand "The only reason I have the Bills ranked behind Kansas City is that Buffalo's opponents this year are a combined 2-7," As previously alluded to there, Capt., the Chiefs opponents are a combined 2-7 in all games, too. The only difference between the two? The Bills don't struggle or need help from the refs to win their games. Pro Football Talk (Florio) https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/pfts-week-4-2024-nfl-power-rankings Where else would you rather be than right here, right now? Thank you, PFT, because its not about who won last year. Edited September 24 by dollars 2 donuts 2 1

JohnnyBuffalo
I’m slowing the roll on this narrative. The teams the Bills beat are 19, 26, and 27 in the first link you posted. Go 3-0 over next 3 and I will be more on board. Go Bills! 2 1
ToGoGo
It’s funny how every team is good until the Bills smoke them. Now they “suck” and the Bills need to beat a real team. The underlying thought is that the Bills suck so if they win, the other team must really suck! 1 1

However, Bills opponents outside of playing the Bills are 2-4. For the chiefs, the almost consensus number 1…they are 2-4. So who between the two teams have been more impressive in their victories? 2 1

KC beat cinci and bmore, who have been very dangerous teams recently. the bills have been playing on tilt, and aside from the zona game (where they mounted an impressive comeback) the games have been over early in the 3rd quarter and the starters ended the game on the bench, so it's clear the bills are a force to be reckoned with. BUT, we've seen the bills look great in the regular season before and fall apart in the playoffs, so until that monkey is off the back, that's gonna be the narrative, and frankly it is deserved. i think it can be different this year, but we need to get some starters on D healthy, and the new guys on O have to continue to gel and improve. 1

Bruffalo
I can understand leaving the Chiefs at 1 since they have one thing that no other team has: The referees to bail them out in the 4th quarter. It sets them apart from every other team on the field. 1

Nothing you said, Colin, is untrue. You are most certainly correct. My problem is this is the now and not what was. That’s why I am also one of the guys saying no slow roll for the Vikes up the charts. Justifiably in some polls they are in the top 3 or 4. Power Rankings…right now…and the Bills are the best. The highest rated QB. The most points in the league. A stifling defense with 3 starters out…2 of them all pros. Other than special teams this D has given up 2 tds in 2.5 games, or the same amount as they gave up in the first half of game 1. Every game the Chiefs have played has been “exciting.” They struggle. Is that what “power” and “rankings” are all about? Go Bills! 5 minutes ago, BananaB said: Other then the first 28 minutes of the season the Bills have dominated their opponents Egg. Zactly, Banana. 109 points in 2.5 quarters and about 30 seconds. And that is taking their foot off the gas through two quarters last night. 1

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch
It's like college rankings too. For the most part, if team A is ranked above Team B, team A will continue each week to be ranked higher until they lose even if team B has more impressive win
tomur67
A month ago, who would have thought that the Bills would be ranked number one in most of the national rankings. It's totally unbelievable. I know we will have some ups and downs, but right now it feels great!!!!!

billsbackto81
Enjoy the moment Johnny. Buffalo is clicking and have proven they can play with and beat KC, although they've come up short in the postseason. But as of now, 3 games in, Bills clear Chiefs. Very respectfully, Johnny, no you really don't. That is an easy excuse that is always used...last year's receipts for this year's taxes. Oh, don't get me wrong. I know that's the way most do it, but it is wrong. Ranking right now...not what they did last year. Right now they are 3-0 after struggling in 3 games against teams that...right now, are 2-7. I am not waiting for this year's playoff results to determine week 3 power rankings. Go Bills!
