BuffaloBillyG Posted September 24 Posted September 24 I don't know about a game ball, but maybe we send a fruit basket to Duval Barbie. We couldn't have done it without his performance. 1 1 Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Game ball to Joe Brady. He’s stressing a defense so much. 2 Quote

I haven't seen the stats, but he was good out there. Can't forget the boards draft bargain pick Javon Soloman punching out the rock, and showing Mac what a real Alabama football player looks like 2 Quote

I thought he played the run really well tonight. No overshooting his gaps, no losing lane discipline and while the game was "live" the Jags could get nothing at all going on the ground. All their best runs were garbage time. Not for nothing but the highest graded starter on the Bills yesterday via PFF was Dorian Williams, just ahead of Greg Rousseau and Josh Allen. Two guys graded higher - Solomon and Elam - but they only played 14 snaps each. Williams was a disaster in London last year. Coming in early for Milano the Jaguars isolated and exposed him. Yesterday was BY FAR his best game as a Bill. 1 2 1 Quote

Watching Mack Hollins blocking his ass off on the first TD drive and clearing the way for Cook's TD. I have noticed something really interesting that Hollins does when running a pick play. Usually, receivers block but try to make it look like they are receiving. "What? I just turned here to run a button hook, didn't know I was in your way, excuse me." Hollins kind of does the opposite. A defender will be running parallel to the line of scrimmage trying to get outside to catch the receiver in the flat. Hollins actually runs at the defender with his hands up as if he is bracing for impact and going in for a block. The defender tries to avoid him (breaking his line toward the edge) and then Hollins ducks out of the way avoiding contact. Instead of blocking but pretending he's receiving, he pretends to block but then avoids. 2 Quote

Exactly, and that is the beauty of it. With the original way of doing it the player leaves it to the judgment of the ref as to whether it was a pick or just a receiver who happened to be in the way. If there's no contact they can't call it. I had not seen it but it's interesting that receivers are doing that now. Very effective. 1 Quote

Khalil "Tupac" Shakir - Dude is close to automatic game ball status, maybe next week I'll elevate him. WR corps - As I said in the GDT, I'm going to stop by the "We quietly got better at WR" thread for a helping of crow. Watching Mack Hollins blocking his ass off on the first TD drive and clearing the way for Cook's TD. MVS blocking later in the game. Kincaid, Knox, Coleman, everyone contributing. As I also said in the GDT, getting rid of Stef Diggs was addition by subtraction. Good riddance to a bad memory. Can't wait to see these unselfish guys develop this season. Ty Johnson - Dude has become a safety valve for Josh and got hisself a nice tuddy tonight. Von Miller - Dude was in Fabio's face all night, then snuffs out the Jagoffs at the Last Chance Saloon. Damar Hamlin - I'll admit it, teared up a bit there. I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING!!! Total defense - DL, LB's, Back end, complete team effort. They absolutely stifled the Jagoffs. Coaching staff - This is getting to be a bad habit. Throwing up in my mouth a bit here. Better *****in' do this in the playoffs when it counts. Who ya got? 1 Quote
