ImpactCorey Posted September 23 Posted September 23 https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/41026695/how-settlers-catan-brought-buffalo-bills-closer As if I needed more reasons to like this guy. 1 1 2 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I love this article haha. Although it pisses me off that I bought Catan like 3 years ago and before I heard about the Bills playing it. But yet to find a group to play with me so I just result to playing the online clone version against bots called Colonist lmao. Quote
Logic Posted September 23 Posted September 23 That's the second or third time I've heard that Josh is a big Development Cards guy. Funny, because that's almost never my strategy. I agree with Knox that a "diversified portfolio of numbers/resources" and ports are the way to go. Then again, it sounds like Josh does a lot of politicking during the games and that helps him win. Glad that bonds are being built via silly games and team hangouts. To my eyes, the team chemistry and "vibe" is night and day better than last year. 1 Quote
Buffalo716 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Never heard of the game except when Josh talks about it If it brings the boys closer I'm all for it Quote

The Red King Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Catan is normally known for straining friendships, not forming them. 😉 That said, I do enjoy it. 1 Quote

The look my wife shot me last time I built a road I didn't need just to block her longest road attempt...I thought I was gonna be sleeping on the couch for a week. 2 Quote

It's their favorite thing to do. They also go after longest road. They want all those bonus points. I just focus on building cities and expanding on the board. 20 minutes ago, The Red King said: Catan is normally known for straining friendships, not forming them. 😉 That said, I do enjoy it. For families, yes. But a big group of uber competitive guys? No, not really. 1 Quote

Although I have no idea what the game is or how to play... (nevermind, I just saw your tag that says California) Edited September 23 by buffaloboyinATL 1 Quote

Also CA is 1400 miles long so geography may be an issue. 1 Quote

The fact that you are still among us suggests that you have been wise enough not to sleep at all. 1 Quote
Coffeesforclosers Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Catan is great. It's Diplomacy and Twilight Imperium that split families and ruin friendships. Quote
co_springs_billsfan Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Enjoyed the article, but the line comparing the game's strategy to monopoly and risk was weird. Quote
ChiGoose Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Honestly, winning Catan with just two cities is almost as impressive as Josh’s performance tonight. Dude just wins. Quote
