That's usually what it is, but this time their defense lost too many dudes this offseason. And they lost them because the Brown family is having to pinch pennies to get ready to pay Chase.

Too early for this to be anything but wishful thinking, but based upon their odds projections, Bengals lead the AFC with an 86% chance of no playoffs.

They would have expected to come out of the first three weeks with a 2-1 record at least. The Patriots and the Commanders at home? Yes, ok, the Chiefs were always going to be tough and a possible defeat, despite the ‘Burrowhead’ meme, but it’s a horrible start for them. With their defense in the state it is, the game against the Panthers may be another shoot out but not as confident that Dalton will be able to keep up with Burrow in the same way Daniels did.
