Wasn't there a new rule when the Saints got screwed by a PI call and they made a new rule ? Yep. But the refs refused to overturn any of those calls/non-calls, so they scrapped it. 1 Quote
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Despite the apparent interference, there was no penalty flag thrown on the play. So why didn't Cook get flagged for PI? Referee from Chiefs-Falcons game explains controversial no-call on apparent pass interference by Kansas City According to referee Tra Blake, it's because the official who was responsible for making that call didn't see any interference happen. "That is a real-time call that officials have to make a judgment on," Blake said in the pool report. "From the angle that they had at the time, they did not feel that there was a foul committed." Since pass interference is no longer reviewable, officials have to make a snap judgment when it comes to throwing a flag for PI and in this case, the officiating crew didn't feel that the play warranted a flag. That being said, even if the officials had thrown the flag on Cook, there's no guarantee that the Falcons would have won. If the officials had thrown a flag, the Falcons would have gotten a first down at the 1-yard line with about four minutes left in the game. If Atlanta had scored a touchdown, they would have gone up 23-22 pending the extra point (They likely would have gone for two in an attempt to go up 25-22). Quote

Reminded me a lot of the last play in the Bills/Giants game from last year. Quote
DuckyBoys Posted September 23 Posted September 23 should have been called but Falcons still had a chance later but blew the opportunity with two poor run calls in a row Chiefs win another squeaker Quote
Success Posted September 23 Posted September 23 In case no one noticed: coaching around the league is BAD. McDermott has his flaws, but when you look around, we've got it pretty good. Quote
HappyDays Posted September 23 Posted September 23 (edited) I feel like it's probably not great news that he's traveling all the way to Germany to see a specialist. You have to wonder if he'll even be back this season. Everything is falling apart for the 49ers. They had their shot at a Super Bowl and blew it. While we're on the subject of disastrous player losses: No big deal, just 4 of the most important players on their team. Let me just check the schedule to see who's on the docket... Ah, what do you know, it's the Chiefs. Edited September 23 by HappyDays 1 1 Quote
