He was THE guy coming out. I don’t think beating a ranked team in 8 years or whatever it has been is unrealistic. Only Rutgers has gone longer since a ranked win in the power conferences. For a once great program, that’s insane. They have become irrelevant. Maybe things turn around. The point is, they should. They have the top QB recruit. They have a former NFL HC that has had success in college. I just don’t see a playoff team maybe ever again. They are going to have to beat some good teams before thinking about that. Yes- I agree- they should. And they have improved. It wasn’t the same old thing imo. They were playing better football in 2024 than they have the last 20 years. I think it’s way too early to predict whether or not they will turn it around fully. Landing the top QB was the first step and they took a small step forward. The kid is talented but he’s not great….yet. He certainly wasn’t good enough to make that team a contender this season. Quote
