Fair but I am just not even seeing him out there... but maybe Jmarcus Ingram is very good too... I hope that is the issue.

Ingram isn't playing over Elam. Elam can't play the role Ingram has played. He is strictly a boundary guy.

Role Ingram is playing requires being a good tackler which Elam is not.

Elam reminds me of Gilmore where he looks a bit out of control half the time.

That Benford article is crazy. I'm always in awe over these guys that get out of situations like that. I know my dumbass would have been on the corner chasing quick cash and not working my ass off to get out.

This secondary is so fun. Ingram and Lewis thriving off the bench, Benford and Douglas shutting down the outside, and Hamlin and Rapp steady in the backend.

Sal C talked at length about guys like Lewis, Ingram, and Hamlin being in the system so long, thanks in part such great coaching stability, and thriving because they don't have to think out there. They know exactly what to do and it allows them to mix up and disguise coverages so well. Cover 1's film breakdown showed the backend running basic cover 2 or 3, but the way they rotated post snap it creates confusion and allows them to lock down the backend.

I'm loving the direction of this team. Props to McDermott and Beane for turning the page and truly doing a good job of making decisions to win now and in the future.

What a stud. A random sixth rounder from Villanova of all places is locking down Hill, Harrison and Waddle. Hope we give him a good deal.

Given what we gave up for him in relation to what we received, I’m comfortable saying he’s the best pick of the Beane tenure.

I mean Josh Allen kind of stands in the way of that… by a wide, wide margin

Im thinking value pick here. Bang for the buck.

Even taking into account value, Benford could turn into a generational, all pro, hall of fame CB and STILL couldn’t touch the value of the Josh Allen pick.

Because a generational talent at QB makes you a contender every year, regardless of anything else. A generational CB can’t even begin to compare to that.

I think at this point, all conversations include an implied “…besides / excluding Josh Allen…”

So with that assumption, yeah he’s been a huge surprise and has produced at a high level with very little invested.

As a 6th rounder, he beat out a 1st rounder in his same class at his position to get on the field. And once there, showed he belong.

Great pick for sure.

1. Josh Allen

2. Matt Milano

3. Taron Johnson

4. Christian Benford

Milano wasn't Beane.

Benford has been lights out so far this year.

He has been our best player not name Josh Allen through 2 weeks of this season.

Benford has been great. Taron Johnson was another excellent pick. And yeah... Josh Allen.

We'll see how Shakir does this year, but he is looking to be another good value pick.

I’m happy he’s better than we expected but chill out lol He’s probably trending towards top 10 Beane but let’s keep it on the rails here

Im saying consider where we got him in exchange for what we’re getting. Guy is arguably CB1b. To me, that makes him Beane’s best pick.

Beane/McD have drafted really well. That (including Allen) is the main reason why "the process" has worked, and continues to work. Remember, the process was about building a perennial contender, not a team with a short window of opportunity followed by another rebuild.
