Tying Belichick’s win % is something I never thought I’d see a Bills head coach do. That is incredibly impressive. Edited September 15 by Einstein 2 5 Quote

ProcessImproverMan Posted September 15 Posted September 15 (edited) One has multiple rings and coached defenses that repeatedly shut down MVP caliber QBs in the playoffs. The other hasn't. McDermott gets a ring this year and then we can start comparing (unless Allen completely implodes). He's got the MVP caliber QB. Belichick won a super bowl with Troy Brown, a receiver, playing CB and most of his secondary out. Injuries are no excuse. Just win. Edited September 15 by ProcessImproverMan 3 3 1 8 Quote

78thealltimegreat Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Hey Sean can coach football it’s playoff Sean’s coaching that leaves some to be desired. Still this is a heck of an achievement. This place was basically counting down to the draft by Halloween before he got here 2 1 Quote
hondo in seattle Posted September 15 Posted September 15 I'll be impressed when he pulls ahead of Tommy Hughitt's .694 winning percentage (#4 on the all time list). Hughitt coached Buffalo's NFL team from 1920-1924. 1 Quote

Gugny Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Regular season wins are cute. I’m looking for beautiful. Breath-taking. Bill Belichick and Sean McDermott are white men who’ve coached in the NFL. That’s where their similarities end. 1 2 1 1 1 1 5 Quote

dma0034 Posted September 15 Posted September 15 It's impressive for sure but I'm sure him and everyone on this board would trade some of those wins for wins in the postseason. I have no doubt that McDermott is an excellent coach. The team that ended the drought, except for the Peterman debacle , was exceptionally coached. My problem is I see his defense fall apart against the elite QBs in the postseason. The Bills have also spent more money on Defense than Offense since his first year (this year being almost tied). 1 1 Quote

Belichick's game plan for beating us in the Super Bowl i believe is in the HOF. The goal is to win the super bowl and despite having an elite QB break post season records, McDermott could not get it done. Brady had Belichick coached defenses lead him to a Super Bowl win multiple times when Brady did much less on the field than Allen in some postseason games.
