Utah John Posted September 15 Posted September 15 ‘Offensive line (4.5). Blocking was beautiful on Cook’s 49-yard touchdown run. Spencer Brown and O’Cyrus Torrence double-teamed Da’Shawn Hand, and Connor McGovern made a power solo block on Brandon Pili to seal a big lane for Cook. Torrence had a couple nice solo blocks, too. The Bills barely needed to throw. But the pass protection by Brown against outstanding linebacker Jaelan Phillips was good, and Dion Dawkins was a powerhouse on the other side. Alec Anderson is showing his feistiness, as the Bills used him as a third tackle on eight plays. He had good knockdown blocks on defensive ends Quintin Bell and Calais Campbell in the second half.’ You know what I like best about this? It's that except for Phillips who is quite good, and Campbell who used to be very good years ago, I have never heard of any of these guys before, nor did I even hear their names during the game. To me this screams that Miami has totally botched their salary cap, paying for QB, WR1, and WR2 and a team full of mostly JAGs. (Achane is a real find, however.) Also that the Bills O line dominated said JAGs. 2 Quote
4BillsintheBurgh Posted September 15 Posted September 15 I liked that the whole team picked up the slack for JA17 not being at full strength. Hope McD can capture that spirit again come playoff time because that's the type of effort we need to get over the hump. Quote

Thurman Thomas also played his last year in Miami, and I remember him getting a first down against the Bills and jumping up to emphatically signal the FD. He too was bitter about being let go (the same day as Bruce Smith and Andre Reed were, right after the Music City debacle). Thurman got over it, returned to Buffalo and is once again revered. I don't think Poyer is coming back to Buffalo long term, since I think he and his wife like the climate and the social activities in southern Florida too much. But just like Thurman, we'll look back at Poyer with respect and affection long after the memory of last night's game has faded. 2 Quote

I guess you would call it a home field advantage since Phish players are used to footing on it. Is that what made it so slick? Geesh, get some algicide on the thing Quote

Waddle sure looked disinterested sitting on the bench. Hill seemed concerned, at least. I couldn’t help watching the game again last night! One penalty? Wow, hadn't noticed that. That's great to hear. Quote
elroy16 Posted September 16 Posted September 16 A very little thing I saw (not sure if it was mentioned) was on the pick 6, AJ hit Tua and could have easily driven him into the ground but made sure to roll off and not even land on him to avoid any possible roughing the passer call. It was a bang bang play and he avoided making a huge mistake that happens all so often with the quick whistles these days. 1 2 Quote

I’ve seen it happen the last couple seasons with no call. Quote

Tip of the iceberg for the rest of the NFL. LOVED that! Asked my buddies… have you seen 17 run tonight? No? ***** great! ✔️🍺👏🎉 Quote

Each with outstanding pass breakups. The Fins RT lined up across Von in the 2nd half called for a false start. Von is back. The number 46 on the jersey of the guy heading to the house with the pick-6. ("No way!") Hill and Waddle on the bench in the second half. With their offense on the field. Just like last year. Mitch Trubisky on the field in the second half. Domination in the white-on-blues. Love that combo. GO BILLS The best part is that Hill and Waddle were laughing and yucking it up on camera while Miami fans were having a meltdown online! 1 Quote

JerseyBills Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Game was over after 2 quarters, what a statement to a division rival on the road, short week, multiple injured defensive starters, the gameplan was masterful on both sides 1 Quote

Driving the QB into the ground definitely is. Maybe they've calmed down on just landing on them when you can't really help yourself, but I liked how he clearly rolled away from Tua to make sure there was no doubt there was no penalty. Quote
Ballhawk Posted September 16 Posted September 16 (edited) I would humbly add: Watching the utter time mismanagement by the Dolphins on the last drive before half. It's so great not be the team that plays/coaches scared for fear of turning the ball over with too much time left. Edited September 16 by Ballhawk Quote
Jerome007 Posted September 16 Posted September 16 (edited) So far the WRs and TEs have numbers that would scare the s**t out of us otherwise yet it doesn't matter because: 2-0. Opposing DCs can't see any patterns so far! The OLine has been dominant last game. Wow. Main reason for the W IMO. DLine works great too. Miller back, Rousseau took over in the 1st game, Oliver in the 2nd. Solid corner play. Safety and LB weaknesses not an issue at all so far. WRs we will know if we need to worry only later, we just can't tell yet! Props to McD. Nobody is doing long pass plays against the Bills since 2017. Look at how explosive the Dolphins and Cards offenses can be. Yet they were shut down (2nd half of Cards game, MH jr / Fins all night). Edited September 16 by Jerome007 Quote
