Low Positive Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I didn't see anything on here about this, but it certainly is bad news for a lot of fantasy owners who happened to pick first in their league. 1 1 Quote
Logic Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I drafted Jordan Mason (even though I don't have CMC) because CMC had a lingering calf injury and because of all the camp reports of Mason surpassing Mitchell as the locked in RB2. Snagged Mason off waivers in both my dynasty leagues, too. Dude has "league winner" written all over him. As for those that took CMC early and DIDN'T draft his handcuff, well.... 1 3 1 Quote
paulmm3 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Patriots seem like the big winners of the injury luck game so far this season. Drawing Seahawks minus Kenneth Walker and Niners minus McCaffrey Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I have CMC. Thankfully I drafted Mason too. Last time I had CMC, he was injured most of the time too. I doubt he is effective at all this year. 1 Quote

Sierra Foothills Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Recalling other achilles injuries to people like Richard Sherman and Kevin Durant (where it's known that the achilles is precarious), it almost seems like there should be a procedure that reinforces the tendon. When I hear about athletes playing with a damaged achilles it sounds to me like a tear waiting to happen. Just odd to me that in this day and age there's not a proactive procedure that's available. There probably is but the recovery is probably as long as the recovery from a tear. The issue is the Achilles gets very little blood flow. Very difficult to heal. Just like Tommy John is a 12-18 month recovery. Most of those pitchers don't tear the ulnar collateral ligament - it's usually just a strain that won't heal 1 Quote

I usually go light at RB early, WR heavy, then target elite RB handcuffs late. I don't need depth WR's at that point. It's a strategy that has really worked for me. I either get some great starts from the handcuffs or I'm able to trade from my vault of WR's for a decent RB. I picked up Mason, Davis, Corum. Then made a play on Mostert and Wright in case Achane went down. It sucks having these guys eat up depth, but it positions you to win your league with an injury or two. Quote

Big Turk Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Last year was an abberation from him where he stayed healthy all year. This is much more like what you expect from him where he is injured half the year. 1 Quote

Cincy minus Tee Higgins is a third case of Pats early season injury luck though Quote

I waited one round too long. Quote
