They can´t trade him now, they have to wait till next season. He may be asking to be cut so he can sign with a contender... KC for sure, but I don´t think the phins will do that, right?! RIGHT?!

Anything is possible... but literally 30 other teams would have to pass him up on a waiver claim... before he went to FA... so actually, the Bills would have a chance to grab him before the Chiefs... If my logic is correct... but the difference on the CAP hit would be significant if we claimed him off waivers rather than signing him as a FA I believe.

These players are subject to waivers, which means other teams can claim their contracts. If a player goes unclaimed, they become a free agent.

Players with four or more accrued seasons

These players are considered vested veterans and are released, which means their contracts are terminated and they can immediately sign with any team.

Miami isnt going to release him.   The dead money for the remainder of this year alone 10.5 million.    Not to mention the additional 40 million in dead cap for next year.   If they move on from him its going to be with picks in hand.

Yes, Warcodered said it but in case he wasn't clear enough, after the trade deadline all players are subject to waivers. And yes, the team claiming takes on the current contract which would make it difficult for the Bills to claim him. There must be some playoff team that could take it on though. After waivers, he's a free agent and any team can negotiate a salary with him.

They should yes.  I doubt they will or offensively can.  That scheme is dependent in Hill keeping coverage back.  Without Hill those 2nd level windows close.  The run game is less effective with teams able to play more single high.  McDaniel hasn't really created an identify for team.  Players leave calling them soft.  It is a bad look.  Just paid Tua so imo they are tied to McDaniel.  Miami will be Miami.  Flash no substance.

Yup. To prevent that actual scenario. Last time I can remember this happening is when the Broncos were moving on from Orton and the Bears needed a QB but the Chiefs claimed him off waivers

 

But its a moot point. The dolphins are not cutting Hill this season

It would be idiotic for Miami to release him at this point in the year given the dead cap situation.  Plus it sets a horrible precedent.  
 

As far as a trade after the season, there is an out in his contract after 2025 but how much are teams going to spend both in salary and capital on a 31 year-old WR’s whose game is built on speed?  
 

I think Miami’s stuck with him another season.

Highly unlikely as they'd take a massive cap hit.  And why cut him when they could possibly trade him after the season is over?  The money is already mostly accounted for.

Why would they sign him? I was told on here that the Bills handed them the next Tyreek Hill.
