Dr. K Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Was Bass's second field goal attempt, which went very wide left, tipped, or did he just miss it? I can't tell from the replay. I was feeling encouraged about his coming back into form until that happened. 2 Quote
Airseven Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Either way, I wasn't feeling particularly encouraged by his flubbed 4Q kickoff against AZ. 3 1 2 2 Quote
uticaclub Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) I believe one of the announcers mentioned that the kick may have been tipped due to it being such a bad miss, but I haven't seen a replay confirming this. In my opinion, Bass doesn't seem to have confidence when kicking from the left hashmark. I hope he got injured during the kick and will have to go on IR. At this point, he's a liability. MJS Posted September 13 Posted September 13 The Cover 1 guys were speculating that it was tipped. They didn't really show a good replay on the broadcast, so I don't know. But if it was tipped, that would be a relief. 1 Quote
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted September 13 Posted September 13 The story on on the BN states it was NOT tipped, and they are quoting NFL.com who tracks these things. Not that two days from now it can't be changed to a tip?? Quote

There was a Dolphins player who jumped up with a hand, but I found a shot where it looked as though the ball was heading wide L before it got to the Dolphins defenders. I do think Bass slipped a bit as he planted to kick, though, which considering how everyone else on the field was slipping and falling would not be a huge shock. 7 3 Quote
ChronicAndKnuckles Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I am not particularly confident in Bass either. His body language has been crap. He’s lost his swag. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt until he needs to make an important kick, but things are looking grim. 1 1 Quote
WotAGuy Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Bass has a bad case of nerves at the end of games; doesn’t matter if it’s a pressure situation or not. The final straw was the Philly game when Elliott destroyed his confidence. 1 Quote
Not at the table Karlos Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) The kick was to the endzone I was sitting in. Looked like the hold was off and bass hit it weird but only saw it live from upper deck and didn’t see a replay yet. But IIRC a defender looked to get in pretty quick. TheBrownBear Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I have lost all confidence in the guy and I'm terrified of where this is trending. This guy could seriously lose us a(nother) playoff game or, God forbid, choke away a Super Bowl. I really wish Beane had looked to upgrade the position in the offseason. 2 Quote
Logic Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I saw a Dolphins player doing the "tipped" hand motion immediately after the kick when watching it live. Cannot confirm whether it was or not, but at least one Dolphins player seemed to think it was. 1 2 2 Quote

That’s what it looked like live a slip and he just hit it bad because of it that field sucks Quote

Big Turk Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I thought he might have had his plant foot slip...only thing that really makes sense to hit a ball that badly. Especially since players were slipping all over the place all night. Didn't see the replay, that was my first thought when I saw him hit it. 1 Quote

It rained earlier in the day I think but that was the worst I have seen it in Miami don’t remember it being so slick Quote

GunnerBill Posted September 13 Posted September 13 The contact was almost with the instep and while I don't know if it was tipped I also don't know if it woulda made much difference. Quote
