Yes, they scored and ultimately that’s what matters.  That said, they didn’t exactly move the ball, they had a whopping 247 yards of offense and 13 first downs.  The defense set the O up very well; they scored 24 pts on 180 yards, that is not possible without extremely short fields.  They had one drive that would be a “normal” length drive.   I’m not trying to take anything away from them, they played the game and won, but the fact outsiders aren’t impressed with the offense isn’t unreasonable.   Allen’s stats for 2 games look like his typical stat line for one of his good days.  The leading receivers numbers are pedestrian and the RB yardage isn’t anything special either.  So I fail to see why anyone is shocked that critics are finding the offense underwhelming so far.  The idea that everyone is starving isn’t far off, they haven’t been passing a ton and everyone is getting a tiny morsel.  Shakir is the only one who got a decent amount of targets both games.

All that said, it COULD be a really good thing.  It makes it hard to scheme against if there’s nobody to target.  Also it appears they will adjust the plan to the opponent.  As long as points keep going on the board and wins stack up, I don’t care how they do it (as long as JA is healthy).

Somewhat sarcastic but also somewhat honest question-did you actually watch the game? You’re essentially admitting that all you’re looking at is stats. Doesn’t matter what they actually looked like on the field (which was dominant for the defense, pretty good for the offense) but because the stats don’t back it up, it’s very questionable. Stats wise the Bills were much better week 1, but no one is saying they looked better week 1 than week 2

The offense as a whole didn’t do a lot yesterday.  The D really put them in great position.  They scored 24 points, which is good enough, but only had 2 sustained drives.   They basically stalled right where the D gave them the first TO, got a field goal.  Cook broke the one run on the first play of the series after getting the ball at the 50.  It was exactly what they needed, but let’s not pretend they looked dominant out there.  Shakir and Kincaid were the only players with more than one catch, so that starving theory isn’t that far off.   I’m not trying to be negative, but be realistic about it.  So far the O hasn’t been “impressive”.

They looked dominant out there. It ain't pretending. Sensational? High-flying? No, fair enough. But they really did look very good.

"Only had two sustained drives yesterday," you say? Come on.

First, they had a a one-play 51 yard TD drive on the Cook run. That's to be held against them? The fact that they scored quickly, that's bad?

Here's all the drives.

12:16 Q1 63 yards, 6 plays Touchdown

3:21 Q1 4 yards, 3 plays Punt

0:41 Q1 31 yards, 7 plays Field Goal

10:54 Q2 85 yards, 9 plays Touchdown

3:45 Q2 51 yards, 1 play Touchdown

Kneeldown at end of half

15:00 Q3 33 yards, 5 plays Punt

2:40 Q3 25 yards, 5 plays Punt

11:47 Q4 32 yards, 6 plays Missed FG

2:02 Q4 9 yards (1 1st down, then 3 yard loss) Kneeldown

That's ten drives, two of which were end of half kneeldowns, so out of eight drives they had four scoring drives and one missed field goal.

While not terrific, that's impressive.

Allen looked like he could have beaten the hell out of them with the passing game if they'd felt urgency to score, which they never did after three TDs and an FG in the first half. Running the ball a ton makes them look less urgent and get fewer drives, but if it results in big wins, that's anything but a problem.

This year feels different than last but time will tell if it really is. Dorsey’s offense even though they were putting up points felt disjointed. Under Brady the offense feels smooth with a clear idea what they want to do.

I think the biggest thing that caused Dorsey's offense to slow was they were too one-dimensional.  The offense was pass it to Diggs and when he started struggling Dorsey didn't adapt.
