MVS was NEVER on the roster bubble. Despite what fans might have wanted or might have thought. They wanted his deep threat and his vet presence in the room.

Yes, and I’d add his playoff experience as another factor.

Mina Kimes DESTROYS rando DITTOHEADS with FACTS and LOGIC.

Yeah those 5 TDs by Burrow in 4 games in his Super Bowl year really showed swagger...

That's a one game total for Allen in the playoffs.

And to her credit, she started out (like many) an Allen hater. I believe there's a clip of her freaking out when he was drafted.

She hated him then for the same reasons she stands up for him now. NUMBERS. She drew her analysis of him as a college player from his completion percentage and his numbers against top opponents being bad. But as soon as he started producing actual good statistics in the NFL she immediately took that side. She had no problem getting past her prior analysis of him because it was based on numbers and not emotion.

Look For Big Change in Jaguars' Play Against Bills

"You can simplify as much as you want, but it doesn't change the fact that you’ve got to start fast, right?" Pederson had said. "I mean, that just goes without saying.

There just has to be an awareness. Just a sense of urgency by everybody, the entire football team really, when we head into these games."

Despite playing with urgency, the Jaguars will be treating this game like any other.

"This is a good team," Lawrence said. "This is a team, you look at the last handful of years, it's always one of the better teams in the AFC and in the NFL. That's a team we want to be moving forward.

When people think of the Jags, you want to think of a team that is one of the best teams in the NFL, that is a top contender in the AFC. We understand the matchup and the team we're playing and what it's going to take to beat a really good team in Buffalo.

We're looking forward to the opportunity, but we're not making it more than what it is. Every game is important. We have to just attack every week, like we've said before.”

We' re going to get the best Jags team, but we got the best dolphins team and the best Cards, and best of nearly all those teams on that 7-0 run. ( Maybe not that Chargers game, but they had nothing to lose)

Most of those teams we face all the time are in must win games. Teams get up to play us and everyone gets up for MNF.

I'm meh on this hype we are dealing with some kind of cornered juggernaut.

I don't even think the Jags are that bad of a matchup. Our Daboll and Dorsey play calling those games was awful. We ran a total of 19 times in those games. Heck, Smoot was the big problem , and he's on our team now. The team was decimated w injury last year and the D was a shell.

Of course Mina Kimes is right about Josh Allen. Here's why:

When other football analysts do videos from their homes, on the shelves behind them If they even have books on the shelf, the books they have are biographies of Vince Lombardi or picture books of NFL history, along with their photos of Tom Brady or Lawrence Taylor, little plastic football helmets, or pennants for various teams.

Mina has a book by Vladimir Nabokov and a copy of Don DeLillo's 827-page postmodern novel Underworld (which happens to contain the novella "Pafko at the Wall" about the 1951 playoff game between the Giants and the Dodgers where Bobby Thompson hit "The shot heard 'round the world.").

Dayum. Finally someone saying something that makes sense.

Right? These highly paid "experts" obviously don't bother watching the games or looking at the numbers. They just indulge their biases in a case study of logical fallacies. So Joe Burrow is better because he has more swagger, Lamar is better because he's a dual threat, ignoring Allen's similar run production and superior air production, Mahomes is better because of his higher TDs thrown  vs turnovers ratio, ignoring Allen's far superior overall TD/turnover ratio. Criticize Allen for not making it to the Super Bowl, ignoring his actual performance in the playoffs.

Nice work if you can get it. Spout garbage and laugh all the way to the bank.

Underworld was underedited.  But a great book.  Also happens to contain the incredible short story The Angel Esmeralda IIRC.

There are only two reasons to watch NFL Live....the first is to see how good Laura Rutledge is looking, and the second is to listen to what Mina Kimes has to say.

She is the only one worth listening to.......the others are mostly morons to begin with, who then continuously try to "out-moron" or "out-loudmouth" each other throughout the show.

Studying up on the Jags first games a little. They basically lost their first two games due to a few errors and miscues: eg, fumble by Etienne as as he is about to score against Dolphins, and illegal formation penalty to call back the go-ahead TD against the Browns.

Other miscues too in both of their games. But this team easily could be 2-0. I think this is going to be a tough one.

No doubt… I agree.   The Jags are not a bad team.   The Bills definitely get the edge.. they’re 2-0 for a reason and playing at home with a few days extra rest.  So they should win this game.

However, as we all know, anything can happen and the Jags are very much (I think) going to come out on fire to prove they belong and salvage their season before it gets out of hand.   The Bills need to match that intensity in the first quarter, and then keep the peddle down to put them away in the 3rd.  Do that and I think they cruise to 3-0.
