SCBills Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) Bills have been really high on Smoot. Hopefully we can get him back against his former team next Monday Night and have a legit 4 man rotation on the edge. A lot of us were hoping to get 75% of Von pre-injury… He’s looking more and more like we may get at least 90%. I found myself watching him off the edge like I did that short stint when we first got him.. Legitimately thinking he can smoke the Tackle every time. Edited September 13 by SCBills 1 2 Quote
zow2 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Von rewarded us fans for hanging in there with him and not saying negative stuff about his play 😆 1 5 Quote

According to spotrac it is, but I thought that the pay cut he took this season allowed us to get out after this season Not sure. Looking at spotrac 15.5m deadcap vs 24m cap. They are showing his new restructure so it probably is what it is. I mean they could get out but even if they can it doesnt mean they want to. Maybe he plays stellar and they want to keep him. 1 Quote

HIT BY SPIKES Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) So Groot had 52 snaps AJ Epenesa had 50 snaps Von had 29 snaps From my recollection, Von's first snap was late in the 1st quarter. It wasn't until the Bills had a sizeable lead did Von's snap count increase dramatically. I understand that the Bills are using Von strictly as a pass rushing specialist however I would hope that as the season develops that Von gets more snaps when the score in the game is in doubt. stuvian Posted September 14 Posted September 14 after two years of stealing paycheques I will need to see a whole season out of Von before declaring him redeemed 2 2 1 4 Quote

Simon Posted September 14 Posted September 14 11 minutes ago, stuvian said: after two years of stealing paycheques I will need to see a whole season out of Von before declaring him redeemed He wasn't stealing anything. He suffered a major injury, worked his ass off to come back from it and voluntarily took a pay cut to help the team while he was doing it. Watching Bills fans repeatedly spit on injured players over the years is one of the few things in this forum that genuinely disgusts me. 7 1 12 Quote

He’s on pace to make all that money back- all in all- considering the Von miller situation mid offseason, it looks like everything has played out in our best interests I had to remind myself of the sack scale for this year. Von moved $8.645M into incentives. A wash would be 10.5 sacks for the season. 2024 Sack Incentives (non-cumulative) 2: $1M 4: $2.5M 6: $4M 8: $6M 10.5: $8.645M 15: $9.645M Edited September 14 by ColoradoBills 2 1 Quote
Mikie2times Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) What is always interesting about Von is how he sets up lineman for later in the game. It's almost like he holds his 2-3 best rushes for pivotal moments. He has a great gasp of situational football. I was bullish on him returning to be an impact player this year and I'm super excited for his redemption tour. I just couldn't see him going out with those domestic issues and that performance. He's a legacy type player. Changing the narrative is important to him. Edited September 14 by Mikie2times 2 2 Quote

EmotionallyUnstable Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Here to eat some Crow (hopefully) Been a doubter since the injury, gave him patience and grace last season, but did not see a spark week 1 making me feel uninspired despite the sack. Last game felt different, albeit vs some reserve talent. If he can continue on this path, our rush could be dangerous. I’ll gladly own up to it Quote
Doc Posted September 15 Posted September 15 (edited) Another thing to note is he looked good playing on that terrible field where footing was an issue. It probably (and hopefully) was the reason they limited his snaps. Edited September 15 by Doc 1 Quote
