Stop it!! Look for Playoff Von folks. He'll be a difference maker. I'd rather be focusing on the back half of the defense as opposed to Von Miller. 2 Quote

Magox Posted Thursday at 08:03 PM Posted Thursday at 08:03 PM For those that are implying that Von Miller has been playing at a “meh” level, you’re talking out your ass and have no idea what you are talking about. He’s been excellent against the run and has been getting lots of pressures, considerably higher than your average DE. I believe he’s going to ball out come the playoffs. 2 5 1 1 Quote

Doc Posted Thursday at 08:37 PM Posted Thursday at 08:37 PM Chubb's a schlub. He's averaged just under 7 sacks/season. Quote

It's infrequent because of his usage, but it is there. I expect them to cut him loose when it counts in a few weeks; I just hope his conditioning is where it needs to be. I doubt they holding him back…. it wasn’t that long ago where many were parsing every play of teen sensation Tremaine Edmunds to convince everyone else how good he is (we just don’t know what we are looking at, etc). 3 2 1 Quote

We have no way of knowing how much he would have contributed if he hadn't injured his knee. He looked good before it happened; he hasn't had his special magic since he came back. In Detroit, he did his job and played his position, but he never really won one-on-one. Still, there's time. Two or three timely sacks in the playoffs will make everyone happy the Bills have him. I like this phrasing. There is no such thing as a risk-free decision in the NFL. The risk they took signing Miller didn’t exactly pan out. But it was a calculated decision on their part, weighing the upside against the risk. And given how good Miller looked pre-injury - particularly his clutch performances in big games - I can’t kill the decision making. Best case scenario would be Miller salvaging some major value with a clutch sack or two in playoff victories. Im not expecting it but I don’t think it’s crazy. I’ve been watching him a lot of defense all year. I was pretty encouraged by his play early in the year, but IMO he hasn’t looked the same the last few weeks. I don’t think he’s looked awful, just a lot less impressed than I was early on. My hope is that he’s taking it easy by his standards, either because he’s only got so much left in the tank, and he’s trying to save it for the playoffs. It's also possible that Miller’s faced some tough matchups the last few weeks and has been getting beat. 2 Quote
jlgarsh Posted Friday at 01:48 AM Posted Friday at 01:48 AM I thought he looked good against the Lions. Was getting held like crazy but didn't get the calls unfortunately. 1 Quote
Breakout Squad Posted Friday at 01:57 AM Posted Friday at 01:57 AM How in the hell is Von playing well? He goes out wide every time. He looks like he is just going through the motions. Does it ever look like he’s giving 100% when he’s rushing the QB? The only contract worse than Von’s is Deshaun Watson. 1 2 2 Quote
EasternOHBillsFan Posted Friday at 02:00 AM Posted Friday at 02:00 AM So I guess what is lost in all of this is the experience, instruction and leadership that Von Miller provides. He HAS WON a Super Bowl, and that sort of experience cannot be duplicated. Don't you think that the players interact with him frequently in these moments when the playoffs are on the horizon? The things that you DON'T SEE could tip the season in our favor in the playoffs... one or two observations or teaching moments by Von could be the difference in winning it all. 1 Quote

So we’re paying Von $8 million this year to share his experience and knowledge? Not to mention his salary cap hit if he’s released. Von is not the difference in winning it all. EmotionallyUnstable Posted Friday at 03:37 AM Posted Friday at 03:37 AM The perception vs reality video tried really hard to show Von as a pass rush force. I am not sure I agree with some of the assessments. His run support has been there, but I still expect more from a HOF level player who was paid to close. Obv the injury is a major factor in this, so I don’t hold it against anyone but the fact of the matter is that I do not expect his snap share to significantly increase. Do you foresee him getting more than 40% of snaps in the post season? I do not. Groot Ed DQ Jones will all elevate their snaps, more like we’ve seen at times this year as well as in the playoffs last season. Quote
sven233 Posted Friday at 03:49 AM Posted Friday at 03:49 AM Von has been OK this year. He's shown flashes of what he used to be while also showing his age and injury history at times. Is he worth the money we're paying him right now? No, obviously not. That said, this season, and every year that Allen is our QB, is about one thing......the Super Bowl. If we are blessed enough to get there and have a chance to win it, if Von makes the play that wins us out first Super Bowl, he will have been worth every penny. It could be 1 play......but if it's the biggest play in franchise history? Yeah.....it will have been all worth it. So, to me, Von's story isn't written here yet. I'll get back to you when he leaves the team or retires. Or.....I'll get back to you if we win the Super Bowl in February. 2 1 Quote
TFBillsfan Posted Friday at 03:54 AM Posted Friday at 03:54 AM I expected more than 9 tackles and 4 sacks on this season. Unfortunately I can’t recall the last time he’s made an impactful play. 1 1 Quote

I was surprised this was bumped. Von may have been our most consistent DL (in a good way) over the last several games. He was one of the few bright spots on D against the Rams. 1 1 1 3 Quote

QCity Posted Friday at 07:09 AM Posted Friday at 07:09 AM This thread is a great example of spiking the football too early. We didn't give him $100M to stuff the run, we paid him to get to the QB. We're approaching Christmas and he has 4 sacks. No, the doubters have been 100% correct (the entire premise that they were wrong after 1 game was ludicrous to begin with). He can still make a difference in the playoffs, and who knows maybe he will, but based on his performance this season that's wishful thinking. 1 1 1 Quote
