Groot gets all the attention and deservedly so, but he already basically exceeded what he did for the entire season last year in one game.

When Von was on the field, you noticed him. 1 sack and 1 TFL as his impact plays aside, he was consistently a menace in the backfield. And anyone who doesn't want to give him credit for that sack should go watch the play again because he bull rushed the Tackle right into Murray, which caused it.

I was pretty confused at the amount of people saying things like "he has something like a 5% chance to do anything this season." :flirt:

Who knows what his sack production is for the rest of the season, but barring injury, he clearly looks like he'll be a net positive for our DL.

Hope the Von doubters find that Crow tasty

I was hoping he'd return to from.... even if not 2022 but someone who may get 7-9 sacks this year. I figured the injury takes time. We saw Tre struggle and improve after coming back and I was hoping for something similar with Von. Groot, Von and AJE could do some damage this year. If the team stays healthy and the Safeties improve over the course of the year.... this may be the year the Defense performs in the playoffs.

he came close to getting another sack that game forget which play it was exactly but Murray moved up in the pocket last second. A less mobile qb and Von mighta got him.

I want to believe but Von did not even start the game.

ESPN did.

Not sure what “ESPN did” means, but the game started with a 1st down and Von is more of a 3rd down guy, so makes sense he didn’t start the game.

Ah the sack where Ed and Groot won their reps forced Kyler up and he tripped over and Von was the one who ran round to play tag? That sack?

He looked to be moving better than he did last year. That is fair. Beyond that, no. He did not prove the doubters wrong.

Was that a dream you had?

Joe Marino did his All-22 review today... he said this might have been his favorite game from Von Miller as a Bill.

Boy...

Yea. The rep is as I said. Murray trips up and Von taps him. He doesn't sack him in a traditional sense.

You are talking nonsense. Haven't listened to Joe yet this week. I will. I respect his opinion. But unless he shows me stuff I missed in the game I disagree with him on Von. He was meh.

The only damage AJE did Sunday was to the Bills.

Does this actually mean something to you?

He had 5 pressures.  He wasn’t great-  but he was good.  He didn’t looked washed as some suggest and looked like he can contribute as long as he’s healthy.

on his his sack, he pushed his guy right back into the pocket and helped force Murray to scramble forward.  If he didn’t win his rep, Murray wouldve been able to right to where Vons man was

This is exactly how I felt too. I was there and watched him a lot. He moved better than last year but that’s not saying much. Mostly ineffective and many times did absolutely nothing / got swallowed up. Questionable effort on many plays as well. Thankfully he restructured his contract but it will be good to get him totally off the books.

AJ Epenesa = ESPN

You know...the guy who started and got the early snaps instead of Von?

I am NOT saying it was the right coaching decision however it was the decision.

To me Von was by far the most dominating part of that sack. Absolutely pushed his guy back into Murray. Von very deservedly so got credit for that sack.

I agree with the other parts you said-outside of that play I don’t think I noticed him much unless I was actually looking for him

Yup, that is the way I saw it as well.

Von was a non-factor until the 2nd half.

Groot's growth as a pass rusher and setting the edge is undeniable.

Expecting BIG things from him this year -- over 15 sacks.

Ed Oliver really needed a BIG 1DT next to him this year so Oliver could be the penetrator he was in college.

He is at the stage of his career where can do that if there is a BIG guy next to him to sop up 2 blockers.

Bruh.

He "trips up" over the legs of the dudes getting bull-rushed into him, one of whom was Von's guy.  I presume you have eyes, so just... admit that Von played a significant role in that sack?  And it wasn't "Ed and Groot" winning their reps?

Why does it feel like a solid chunk of this board of "fans" short-circuits when the Bills and their players do well instead of being happy?

1. This is why not everyone needs a funny little nickname. Half the people you talk to won't know who the hell you're talking about.

2. His name isn't EJ. It's AJ. He's on his second contact here already. Not sure you even know who the hell you're talking about.

These folks are legit so committed to their priors that they cannot give Von Miller credit for a bull rush rep that he clearly and undeniably dominated.
