78thealltimegreat Posted September 9 Posted September 9 What’s he making 45 million a year? It comes with the job. I remember just 3 years ago when Josh had a rough game against the Steelers to open the season people where throwing his jersey on the highway. Fans will be fans especially in New York Quote

Seems to me it is putting the player in a potentially dangerous situation. No a smart move by the team. Rewatched it. Not a lot of security with the guy. Specifically nobody that looks like they’d be able to truly protect the player if something happened. Edited September 9 by davefan66 1 1 Quote
TheWeatherMan Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Giants keep passing on QBs in the top of the draft to take skill players is a complete 🤦🏻♂️. Obviously didn't learn when they took Barkley because they took Nabers knowing they had no QB. Quote

Keith Hernandez made a crucial error that cost the Mets the game. On the way out of the stadium, Hernandez was being heckled by these two guys and he finally lost it! Rumor has it that he ( or another person) spat at the two hecklers and hit the one dorky heckler in the head! These are the serious consequences that can occur when you harass a professional athlete after a game, people!! hahah. NICE... hahah. Post of the day for sure. 1 Quote
dma0034 Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Gun to your head: would you rather have Wilson, Watson or Jones as your starting QB? Daboll getting average play from Jones for a year and then paying him is going to set the Giants back years Quote

As to your question, I take Wilson for sure. I'd take him over Cousins too. Quote

Jones has been bad lately, but the problems are deeper than that. Because they keep taking skill players and defensive talent. Poor management! Quote

Are there good coaches you are able to hire available? In Coach McD there were serious flaws but they had ownership willing to take the pains you planned on taking and an assistant GM who was always the bride maid and never the bride who you could work with. Unfortunately Giants doubled down with Jones after a good season and it was not a good bet. Barkley is a good RB but only when you respect the QB and not stack the box. So glad both teams are part of NJ now - only if NYC and suburbs were part of it. The grass is not always greener... thats for sure. I get that he took a head coaching job... I mean you work all your life for that if it is your goal... but man, you hook up in the wrong situation it can be a really difficult road. I get they took their shot with Jones, but that was sure a swing and a miss... I think Deshaun Watson is worse, I struggle to think of a worse QB deal on the market other than Clevelands... I mean give the Pats and Jets credit, they cut bait (Jets twice) on high drafted QBs before they got sucked in. But in todays CAP world giving a big contract to the wrong QB is literally doom. 1 Quote
KingBoots8 Posted September 9 Posted September 9 I get that it comes with the territory to a point, but for the love of God leave the dude alone. Boo him on the field when he plays bad, sure, but he has the right to be human. If we had thousands of people taking the piss out of us any time we made a mistake it would take a toll after a while. Doesn’t matter how much he’s paid (though I’m sure it helps) but when he isn’t working he shouldn’t have to deal with mouth breathers yelling at him. I’m sure he’s done some good things off the field and people need to remember that as well as the things he does for 60 mins on Sundays. …sorry, not sure why I ranted there but this is crossing a line in my eyes. "fans" just hanging around to be sh-tty to another person. trashcans. sadly this is our current world, where its ok to be ignorant slobs that cant be shamed, cuz, freedoms Right... I remember them trashing Leodis McKelvins grass after he fumbled a KO return against the Pats... I remember thinking what is wrong with people... like seriously. You want to yell at them in the game... thats the game... when its over they are people and thats when I am like get you a$$ out there and do better bit&h. Just cause you paid for a ticket once doesnt mean you get to carry this over to real life. 1 Quote

KingBoots8 Posted September 9 Posted September 9 I actually just had a realization, based on what I was saying in the Watson/Dorsey thread: Unless DJ is doing some heinous off the field stuff, his football play should only be thrown at him when he’s playing football. I said if I got $230m I’d sign the paper even if it meant people would talk crap about me, but I’d also be pretty annoyed if I had to deal with it in my face when I’m just trying to get home. (I do hope he got in his super car and flipped the bird to the “fans” when driving home to his mansion, as I said I would have done in that thread) Watson on the other hand is a villain OFF the field and deserves to be reminded of it. Screw that guy. Quote

Danger Mouse Posted September 9 Posted September 9 He's paid a lot of money to bring glory to people who are too useless to ever achieve any kind of glory in their own lives. It's not right, but that's the game he's in. He carries their hopes and dreams in exchange for the high life. This is the price he pays. It's pathetic. But what can you do. Quote

Just as Bills fans starting harassing a player at his home one time. I understand why players want to be isolated from fans sometimes and if I was a very well paid player like Jones I'd likely have an escort away from stadium or stay at stadium until crowds gone. Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Its low class trash behavior. If I were the Giants I would pull video of who did it and ban them. I agree with other posters, on the field (to an extent) fine, let them have it. But after the game as the guy is leaving? Disgusting. Quote
TFBillsfan Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Daniel Jones might want to start wearing noise canceling headphones on his way out. Unfortunately some fans are just idiots! Quote
The Tomcat Posted September 9 Posted September 9 (edited) 1. I didn't think the heckling was that outrageous. 2. Access that close to drunken idiot fans will only end in a tragedy someday. 3. Why the hell did the Giants sign him to that contract anyways? 4. What was he supposed to do, not sign the contract? 5. If you look close enough, there's a second spitter. There has to be. 6. Josh Allen is not overrated . 7. Just went back and reread the tweet. It also says "Yelling In his face"....come on. That's not even close so let's quit the over exaggeration for clicks. Grow some thicker skin! Edited September 9 by The Tomcat Quote
