DBilz2500 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Was pretty impressed with Coleman’s first game-4 catches for 51 yards with the big 29 yard catch in the 4th quarter. Thought he also blocked well on the few running plays I watched him specifically. 42 20 1 2 Quote
Simon Posted September 8 Posted September 8 He's a physically aggressive WR all over the field who plays with zero fear. He is going to be an asset for this team on multiple levels. 35 18 2 4 Quote
sven233 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) This is what we are going to need out of him this year. He's going to have a rough go of it at times until he learns how to get off of press consistently. He's obviously not going to run by or run away from anyone, so he needs to impact the game in other ways and making a tightly contested catch in a big moment for a big play is how he can help us until he learns the nuances of the game. thenorthremembers Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Happy he had a good first game. That said, he still will have to answer the question about creating space. Also it was a push off 1 3 1 8 2 Quote
Maine-iac Posted September 8 Posted September 8 In today's world 17 games of 4 catches and 51 yards would damn near get you 900 yards. I like that in 23 targets the ball only touched the ground 5 times for our pass catchers. 6 1 Quote

Also it was a push off It was a skilled and intelligent pushoff though. He understands to make the motion quick and violent, before the top of the route while the ref is shielded and doing it without extending his arm. Very effective and will typically go uncalled. 11 12 3 Quote

Big Turk Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) Love that catch along the sideline playing basketball... Wish Allen would have given him a chance on the next fade ball to the end zone. Seems like he had box out position on the DB Edited September 8 by Big Turk 2 2 1 Quote

SageAgainstTheMachine Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) That high point throw to the boundary is a tool that Josh hasn’t been able to use his entire career. Gabe had toe-drag abilities but not that 50/50 ball skill. I’m excited about Coleman. Edited September 8 by SageAgainstTheMachine 4 3 Quote
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I also want to point out the two penalties he drew which were instant first downs. He has such a mismatch the only way to slow him was blatant penalties 11 4 7 Quote

Meh, it was too far and too line drivey...should have been shorter and more loopy. Allen threw a fade ball, would have preferred a back shoulder jump ball to allow Coleman to use his basketball skillset and size to box out. Edited September 8 by Big Turk 4 2 Quote
strive_for_five_guy Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Wasn’t able to see the game where I was at, looking forward to catching the replays though. A stat line of 4 for 51 sounds like a great start to his career. 1 Quote
Nelius Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Definitely not a bust yet. He legit looks like a basketball player out there - I don’t really know what this means or how it translates, just an observation. I feel he can box out any DB in the league 2 2 Quote

That was one of the first points I made after seeing Coleman's game for the first time. He gives Allen options to do things that he's never had in this league before. He could effectively make Josh a better player in the same way that Josh could make Coleman better. 4 1 Quote
Big Blitz Posted September 8 Posted September 8 And Allen only threw 2 passes in the first half. 1 Quote
