Mister Defense Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) Oh well, was hoping he'd end up on an AFC team next year, so there would be one less team for the Bills to have to be concerned about for a while. But this eliminates Dallas as a serious contender for the duration of his contract. Can you imagine what is going on in 'ol Jerry's mind right now!? The guy was trapped, had almost no other options, and this was heightened by being 81 years old. He could not let the already-significantly-lacking-in-confidence- prescott be a lame duck this year, as that would likely mean an even more disastrous season than last year, what with a lame duck head coach too. But now he has a quarterback that he clearly knows, (just look and listen to what he has said over the years, the real things not the BS praise), has almost no chance of winning a Super Bowl. They should now make a play for diggs this year too, as I assume he is already wearing out his welcome in Houston, like he did in Minnesota and Buffalo. Dallas is the perfect fit for a guy like diggs, where it is less about football and more about individuals trying to get personal glory and riches. Poor jerry! Go girls! dma0034 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Man I wanted the Bills to sign Josh to the same deal as Mahomes. 10 years 450 million. Looks like a steal now 1 Quote
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted September 8 Posted September 8 NFL teams get more or less trapped by the fact that only a certain finite number of quarterbacks in the league can lead a team to the playoffs, and end up hitching their whole franchise to fool's gold. I'm guessing the correct (ie. game theory optimized) GM strategy is to continue seeking elite QBs until you find one, but due to impatient ownership and fans the front offices are incentivized to keep trying to hit 10 wins each season and preserve their jobs. And so you end up in cap hell with a QB who's kinda vaguely top 10 or top 12 and won't get you over the hump. 1 Quote

The path to the superbowl is much easier in the NFC. Dak could get them there. I wouldn't bet on that, but it could happen, especially if their defense does really well. If he was in the AFC, he wouldn't have a shot. 3 Quote

Olliemets Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Wow!! I was wondering to self other day "Who's going to sign Dak if he's a free agent?" Almost like Jerry was competing against himself. Thnk about it. Who woud be desperate enough to commit that kind of money to Dak? Happy to see Cowboys treading water next 4 years Quote

If Josh does what i think he will do after that overrated snub…he’s going to unleash Thor’s hammer on the league and be the highest paid after his contract extension next year. At this point, why are you confident Josh will want an extension to stay on the run first, no WR Bills? 1 Quote
Jerome007 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I thought he had got a huge deal last year or two years ago max. Very good QB, not elite. Their mistake. Quote
