Too bad for him honestly.  His BS really cost him the most in the very end... I ALWAYS THOUGHT he would be able to age well with the sport. hes a route technician, never a speedster guy, when Hill loses a step hes going to fall off a cliff.... but Stef had to be a jerk and scare teams off.... then tearing his ACL at 30 or 31.... weve seen how long it takes guys in their prime to bounce back. 2025 is a wash before its even started.... next year hes what 32?  While likely having a sub 500 yard year this year. with threat of an attitude.... while wanting to be paid like hes the same.... nothing going in his favor, and hes going 2 be the last to accept it

See this is what people don't see when the whole "we could of had Jefferson" crowd pops up.

 

Allen needed that vet trusted WR that could help him grow. Teach him little things about the game. And he got that from the experienced Diggs. A WR to help guide him. 

 

He wouldn't have got that from Jefferson. Jefferson is the WR that as a vet Allen needs now. A young WR with elite skills that will fall in line under the QB that is the unquestioned leader. 

 

Now where they find that type of player this year in the draft...I don't know.

Why does it anger me that this is stickied?  I thought once this dingus was booted from the team we wouldn’t have to continually talk about his drama.  There is absolutely no way he’s coming back, too much bad blood with the coaching staff.

He was on pace for 114 catches for 1204 yards and 7 TD's last year before tearing the ACL.  I never questioned Diggs work ethic when he was "locked in" and I wouldn't bet against him.

Who was his landlord during his last year in Buffalo.  From what I understand, they were barely on speaking terms at the end. 

 

The whole premise of this turn of this thread is kind of ridiculous.  Never say never, and time does heal all wounds.  But the Bills dedicated $30+m in cap space last year simply to rid themselves of this guy.   He embarrassed McD publicly in his last minicamp here.  There plenty of stuff upthread about what a headache this guy was during his last year here. I have a hard time believing after the joy of last year that they want this raincloud anywhere near Orchard Park next year or at any point in the near future.  I know much of the stuff upthread to be true - voluntarily pulling himself out of an entire drive, the friggin police chase that nobody seemed to notice here, the chronic lateness, etc.  I can also say on good authority that there are number of LEOs locally that can’t stand the guy—not because he’s violent, but because he’s a disrespectful butthole.  I will be STUNNED if he comes back.

I know they weren't on speaking terms by the end of the previous season. The Cincy game their relationship was described to me as "toxic" and even teammates were not sure of the root cause.

No one is signing Diggs in 2025 until late in the year, and that’s doubtful.  It nearly the identical age and injury and class of player as the Odell Beckham injury in 2021.  Beckham did not not play at all in 2022 after he limped into the Jets facility in the December 2022 timeframe. He only made it back in 2023 and was never close to being the same, though he was okay for the Ravens in 2023, like a wr4.

I never thought Beane would eat the $31M and trade him last year...I figured they would make it work one more year then part ways this offseason.  So I am not going to say "never"...but...I think the odds of Diggs suiting up as a Buffalo Bill this year are pretty slim to say the least.  Just don't see it.  They just ate $31M to not have him here...so why bring him back now and coming off a major injury and being a year older too.  Josh had his best season yet, won MVP, and was a ref screw job away from the SB in his first season without him since we originally traded for him.

It's possible he does come back,but it would take a ton. Most of all he has to sit down with Josh and iron that crap out.   Next, park his dang ego and understand he is part of the whole, everyone eats.

 

He owes Beane, McDermott and the fan base an apology.

They needed a #1 WR desperately and if he's the best they come up with at his age and coming off the injury... great.

Yep a lot of parallels for sure.

 

Diggs did tear his acl in October and Beckham tore his in February, that would be the only difference 

 

So he will have about 4 months more recovery on his side. (But to your point, I don't think he will Be ready for the start of the season)

Wouldnt bother me. 

 

First, he isn't even gonna be ready to go as the season starts.  

 

And unless you are Adrian Peterson, it takes time to get back to being who you were, if you ever get there. 

 

Add in the fact that I learned in life, getting back with your toxic ex never works out, no matter how hott they are.
