It’s hard to be involved when you’re refusing to take the field for an entire drive to open a half, or getting chased by police on your way to work and having that chase resolve at your place of employment.  He’s a mercurial jerk. More than “this close” (like after his drop of the dime that took the whole game to set up against KC) to addition by subtraction.

I think one thing that helped Josh take the next step as leader of the team was not having Diggs there.  Diggs has an alpha persona and will try to step up as the leader.  That said, I wonder if his departure also forced Josh to be the one to step into that role, and if Diggs would consider coming back and letting Josh continue as the new unquestioned leader of the team.  The leadership dynamics have changed, but would Diggs actually fall in line behind Josh now, because everyone knows Josh can actually fill that role now?

Also, given Diggs’ circumstances, I wonder if Beane gave him an idea of his market value to the Bills (aka, hey, we’d be willing to pay you this), and Diggs is using that as leverage to land himself some kind of deal elsewhere.  Which would be fine by Beane if we weren’t serious in going after him, because it at least drives up the price a little for someone else.

The main reason I can't see Diggs coming back is because the Bills ate a huge salary cap hit .If it was a few years later maybe? Even if Diggs played good soldier the money part just would not make sense ..GO BILLS!

LOL well said!

I was honestly shocked to see them, and I doubt anyone actually bought them because they were there all summer and into fall.

Appreciate you having a sense of humor, kind of a d*ck response on my part.  The more I think about it, makes some sense  to sell palm trees in WNY, small ones for indoors like atriums or shopping malls.

Back to the Diggs topic, I wouldnt even risk taking him back for the vet minimum, why risk it, an aged now injure old WR that had issues in the past, best to leave it alone.

I wouldn’t care if he came back except that he just had a big time injury. It takes forever to come back from that fully and he wasn’t being used all that much when he was fully healthy and Brady employed the everyone eats offense.

Seems like a waste of time really. The amount of balls he’d get wouldn’t justify the potential drama and amount of money he’d want.

If he came in groveling and said he’ll be a worker bee and didn’t want all that much money, I’d take him back.

I can't see Diggs here while J Brady is on the staff.  Diggs flat out disrespected J Brady - to a him or me extent.  The Bills chose J Brady and the fireworks escalated and that's when the social media campaign kicked in.

Remember when Diggs wouldn't put in an effort off the line.  Remember when Diggs would take himself out on 3rd downs for no apparent reason.

I remember.  As a matter of fact I thought those behaviors were so out of character that I was pretty sure Diggs was playing through an injury.  I was  extremely  surprised when Diggs went and did stuff at the pro-bowl and there were no reports of an injury.  I then started looking at everything Diggs related from a different point of view.

No way will J Brady have S Diggs on his team (and the same probably goes for McDermott).  Diggs, in part, forced his way out by substandard play on the field (and as a conspiracy theorist it may have contributed to Josh not checking it down to him at the most important time late in that game - remember Diggs had dropped one bomb earlier).

Anyway, Unacceptable.   Inexcusable.  Diggs certainly will not be back this year.

Except none of us are excited

Part of me just wants it to happen because it would be hilarious.  Maybe Diggs could announce our pick in the 2nd round that Houston traded for him.

For vet minimum, 1 year deal…I’d be open to it.  It improves our odds on the field.

He whines, he’s gone.  Simple as that, and that goes for camp all the way to the SB.  But if he could prove to keep to himself and play ball, he’d be an addition for sure.

Imagine down the road a NFL Films presentation where a team that just won the SB, turfed a player the year before, comes back and they win it lol.

Could you imagine a season full of the media asking Allen how his current relationship with Diggs is going at every PC?

Allen would probably asked to be traded.

Diggs coming back would be like McGahee coming back.

Diggs never trashed the city of Buffalo or the people that reside there. Diggs’ issue was with the football team not the community.
